Fruits and Veggies: Easter Eggs & References Explained
Community artists never miss an opportunity to pack their creations with inside jokes, gaming references, and pop-culture nods. Here are some of the cleverest Easter eggs hiding in plain sight:
Bananart (Foil): This sticker is a hilarious homage to Italian artist Maurizio Cattelan’s 2019 conceptual art piece "Comedian," which famously consisted of a real banana duct-taped to a wall. The real-life piece recently made headlines again after selling at auction for $6.2 million in late 2024. At least the in-game sticker is much more affordable!
Knife Streak (Holo): This sticker features an SAS operative swiftly slicing through three floating fruits with his combat knife. It’s an unmistakable tribute to the legendary mobile game Fruit Ninja, inviting players to channel their inner fruit-slaying skills.
Dragon Fruit (Foil): Look closely at this one, and you’ll spot a familiar face. The Dragon Fruit (Foil) takes the iconic golden dragon from the legendary Cobblestone mural and reimagines it as a pitahaya (dragon fruit).
From The Vine (Holo): Any seasoned CS player will instantly recognize this one. The berries on the From The Vine (Holo) sticker are arranged to perfectly match the infamous AK-47 recoil pattern. Plus, from a distance, the sticker’s blue hues look suspiciously like the legendary Katowice 2014 Titan logo.
From The Source, B'nana Strike, and Box Logo: These three stickers are direct callbacks to classic Counter-Strike logos and UI elements. B'nana Strike is a particular favorite, swapping out the classic CS operative silhouette for a tactical banana.
Lemin: This one is a bit more obscure. The Workshop description for this sticker asked, "Do you love Smiling Fruits?" This clever hint points straight to the popular animated show Smiling Friends, perfectly matching the lemon's unhinged art style.
The Best Fruits and Veggies Stickers for Scraping
What happens when you take a coin to your virtual produce? While there aren't many mind-blowing hidden messages, scraping these stickers leaves behind isolated elements that are absolutely perfect for custom skin crafts. Here is what we found after scratching them up:
Pineapple On Pizza (Lenticular): Maximum scrape removes the pineapple, leaving only a glorious slice of pizza.
Pepper Gauge (Lenticular): Scrape it down to reveal just the shouting, raging pepper.
Knife Streak (Holo): The sliced fruit disappears entirely, leaving only the knife-wielding SAS operative.
Early Bird (Foil): Everything fades away except the worm’s tiny head poking out.
Ultra Fruity (Holo): Erases everything but the word "FRUITY."
Hot Pepper (Holo): The flames and stem wear off, leaving an isolated red pepper behind.
Dragon Fruit (Foil): Only the very center of the sliced dragon fruit remains.
Fruit Fly (Foil): The more you scrape it, the less hairy the fly gets!
Quality Control (Holo): Scrapes down to leave absolutely nothing but a nasty mold stain.
Agent Kucumber: The vegetable body vanishes, leaving just the signature paper bag mask of Agent Number K.
Heckler: The thrown tomato disappears, but the messy red stain it caused stays behind.
Pungent Comms: Wears down to a clean, white silhouette of the toxic onion.
How to Get the New Fruits and Veggies Stickers?
In-game, the Fruits and Veggies stickers are available in the new Armory store. Each pull costs one Armory Pass star. However, as is the standard with Valve's new system, you cannot buy specific stickers directly. Spending a star only gives you one random item from the entire collection.
