What Are Souvenir Charms in CS2?
Souvenir charms — officially called Highlight Charms — are dog-tag-shaped keychains that capture specific in-game moments from CS2 Majors, such as clutches, aces, or match-winning rounds. Attach one to a weapon and you (and anyone who inspects it) can watch that exact highlight clip play back in your Steam inventory or in-game. They debuted with playoff highlights at the Austin 2025 Major, while Cologne 2026 expanded the system to selected moments from every stage of the tournament.
They're a different item family from the regular charms covered in our CS2 weapon charms guide — those are purely decorative designs unlocked through the Armory Pass, with no tournament connection at all. If you're more interested in pairing a charm's look with a specific skin than in the tournament-history angle, our guide to charm and skin combos is a better starting point.
How Do You Get Souvenir Charms in CS2?
It depends on which Major. For Austin 2025 and Budapest 2025, players with an activated Viewer Pass could earn or purchase Souvenir Tokens and redeem them for a souvenir from a playoff match of their choice. Selecting a match produced a Souvenir Highlight Package containing a souvenir weapon skin from that map's collection with a Highlight Charm already attached — no separate luck needed on top of the skin itself. If you'd rather skip the Major-specific mechanics entirely, charms currently available to buy are worth a look too.
What's New With Souvenir Charms in CS2?
The new souvenir charms in CS2 introduced with IEM Cologne 2026 also came with a major change to the acquisition system, timed to celebrate Team Falcons' championship run. Instead of receiving Highlight Charms through playoff Souvenir Packages, Cologne 2026 made individual Highlight Souvenir Charms available directly in a revamped Major Shop, bought with Tokens. Valve selected 10 highlights from each of the Major's six stages, plus Falcons' trophy-lifting moment, for 61 specific highlights to choose from — not literally any moment from the tournament, but a curated set spanning every stage rather than just the playoffs. Valve also released Cologne 2026 Champions Autograph Stickers for the Falcons roster in the same Major Shop — our guide to buying Cologne 2026 autograph stickers walks through that side of the shop in detail.
The Major Shop itself was new for Cologne 2026, alongside a "Souvenir-O-Matic" system that lets players take an eligible Normal- or Souvenir-quality weapon they already own and turn it into a Souvenir-quality item — complete with a gold team sticker, a player autograph, and a map sticker — by picking a completed match and player. That overhaul is a big part of why Valve moved away from the old random-package model: it's a meaningfully more collector-friendly system, letting you target the specific highlight or player you actually want instead of hoping a package pull lines up.
Can You Detach Souvenir Charms in CS2?
Yes — Highlight Charms are detachable, the same as regular CS2 charms: right-click the weapon, select Detach Charm, and it returns to your inventory as its own tradeable item rather than being consumed. That uses a Charm Detachment Pack; our guide to the Charm Detachment Pack covers exactly how those work and where to get one if you don't already have a spare.
Can You Sell Souvenir Charms in CS2?
Yes, once the trade hold clears. For Austin 2025, Valve explicitly stated that Souvenir Highlight Packages would become tradable and marketable seven days after release. Once detached, they list on the Steam Community Market like any other charm. It's worth noting they trade as commodities — every copy of a given named highlight (say, a specific player's ace) is treated as identical, so you're buying or selling at a set market price rather than bidding on individual float values or patterns the way you would with a skin.
If you'd rather browse the skins these charms come attached to, our CS2 souvenir skins guide and our older StarLadder Major souvenir packages guide both cover the broader souvenir-package system these highlight charms plug into.
FAQ
Do souvenir charms come in StatTrak?
No. Charms don't have StatTrak variants. StatTrak is available on eligible weapon skins and knives, but not on gloves or charms. What distinguishes one Highlight Charm from another is the specific tournament moment it represents.
Do all Majors have souvenir highlight charms?
Not the earliest ones — Highlight Charms are a relatively new addition, first introduced at the Austin 2025 Major. Older Majors before that don't have them, only their standard souvenir weapon skins.
Does every souvenir package guarantee a highlight charm?
No — not every souvenir package. At Austin 2025 and Budapest 2025, Highlight Charms were tied specifically to playoff souvenirs; standard souvenir packages from earlier stages didn't automatically include one. Within a playoff Souvenir Highlight Package specifically, though, the charm did come guaranteed attached to whichever souvenir skin you pulled. Cologne 2026 skipped the package model entirely in favor of direct purchase.
Can I put a souvenir charm on any weapon?
Yes. Once it's in your inventory, a souvenir charm attaches to any weapon skin you own, the same as a regular Armory charm — it isn't locked to the specific gun it originally came on. Want to mix in a purely decorative charm too? Our roundup of new CS2 charms and stickers covers the non-tournament collections worth knowing about.
Do souvenir charms affect gameplay?
No. Like every charm, sticker, and skin in CS2, they're purely cosmetic and have zero effect on damage, accuracy, or any other in-game stat.
