Hyper Beast is one of CS2's most recognizable skin themes — a psychedelic, neon-colored monster illustration wrapped across the weapon — and yet Valve has only ever applied it to four guns since 2015. This guide covers all four Hyper Beast skins that exist, ranked by price, from a $30 shotgun up to a $470 pistol.

What Is the Hyper Beast Design?

Hyper Beast is a Custom Paint Job design: a snarling, bio-luminescent creature rendered in saturated neon blue, green, orange, and magenta against a dark navy base, with the monster's red eye and jagged teeth as the focal point. It's a community-designed theme in the same spirit as Asiimov — instantly recognizable across weapons — except Hyper Beast never expanded much beyond its original run. Only four weapons have ever gotten the treatment, spread across three different cases and operations over two years, and none since 2017.

Five-SeveN | Hyper Beast

Five-SeveN | Hyper Beast - buy on Skin.Land

The Five-SeveN | Hyper Beast is the priciest and newest of the four, added May 23, 2017 with Operation Hydra — see our full list of CS:GO and CS2 Operations for what else came with that update. Its high price is largely driven by limited supply and continued collector demand, despite being a pistol — the Hydra Collection never got a wide re-release the way some other collections did, which keeps this one running around $470 Factory New.

M4A1-S | Hyper Beast

M4A1-S | Hyper Beast - buy on Skin.Land

The M4A1-S | Hyper Beast was the very first Hyper Beast skin, added April 15, 2015 with the Chroma 2 Case. Because the artwork covers almost the entire receiver and handguard, wear shows up fast — a low-float copy keeps the monster's teeth and eye crisp, while heavier wear muddies the neon detail noticeably faster than on most Custom Paint Jobs; our guide to how wear affects a skin's look covers why that happens. It runs around $290 Factory New.

AWP | Hyper Beast

AWP | Hyper Beast - buy on Skin.Land

The AWP | Hyper Beast followed just over a month later, added May 26, 2015 with the Falchion Case. The long, unbroken stretch of the AWP's stock gives the beast illustration more room to breathe than any other weapon on this list, which is likely why it's stayed a consistently popular pick despite sitting mid-pack on price at around $180 Factory New.

Nova | Hyper Beast

Nova | Hyper Beast - buy on Skin.Land

The Nova | Hyper Beast is the outlier on two fronts: it's the only Classified-rarity entry rather than Covert, and by far the cheapest way into the theme. Added February 17, 2016 with Operation Wildfire, it's the easiest of the four to pick up if you just want the look without the pistol or rifle price tag — around $30 Factory New.

FAQ

How many Hyper Beast skins are there in CS2?

Just four: Five-SeveN, M4A1-S, AWP, and Nova. Valve hasn't added a new Hyper Beast skin since the Five-SeveN in May 2017, making it one of the smallest weapon-skin themes still active in the game's rotation of recognizable community designs.

What's the most expensive Hyper Beast skin?

Five-SeveN | Hyper Beast, at around $470 Factory New — pricier than the M4A1-S and AWP despite being on a cheaper base weapon, driven mainly by limited supply from the Hydra Collection and steady collector demand rather than anything to do with it being a pistol.

What's the cheapest Hyper Beast skin?

Nova | Hyper Beast, at around $30 Factory New. It's also the only Classified-rarity skin in the lineup, which is part of why it's so much more affordable than the other three.

Is Hyper Beast an official CS2 rarity or finish?

No — it's a skin design/series done in the Custom Paint Job finish style, not a rarity or a finish of its own. Three of the four Hyper Beast skins are Covert and one is Classified. Our CS2 skins rarity guide covers how rarity tiers actually work.

Will Valve add more Hyper Beast skins?

There's no indication of that so far — the theme has sat at exactly four weapons since 2017, unlike ongoing series like Doppler or Printstream that keep expanding. If you want the look, these four are likely to stay the only options for the foreseeable future.

Are Hyper Beast skins a good investment?

It depends on the individual skin rather than the theme — a small, closed lineup like this one can hold value well simply because supply won't grow, but demand still matters more than scarcity alone. Our CS2 skins investment guide covers what tends to hold value over time.
