IEM Cologne 2026: Key Dates and Where to Watch
Fans can catch every match live on ESL’s official Twitch and YouTube channels. In a historic move for the tournament, a live crowd will be present for the entire duration, as the group stage venue opens its doors to the public for the very first time.
Tournament Schedule:
Stage 1: June 2 – 5
Stage 2: June 6 – 9
Stage 3: June 11 – 15
Playoffs (Lanxess Arena): June 18 – 21
IEM Cologne Prize Pool
While the prestige of a "Cathedral" trophy and the in-game honors are the ultimate goals, the financial stakes at the IEM Cologne 2026 Major are equally massive.
The tournament features a total prize pool of $1,250,000. However, the distribution is famously top-heavy: the pressure starts early, as teams exiting in Stage 1 leave with nothing. For those who survive to Stage 2 but fail to progress, a combined $80,000 is reserved. The real "lion's share" is saved for the elite squads that reach the Lanxess Arena stage.
- 1st Place - $500,000
- 2nd Place - $170,000
- 3rd – 4th Place - $80,000
- 5th – 8th Place - $45,000

Stages 1 and 2 utilize a mix of Best-of-1 and Best-of-3 matches, but in a historic first for the Major, all Stage 3 matches will be Best-of-3 to ensure the highest level of competitive integrity. The tournament culminates in the Playoffs at the Lanxess Arena, where the final eight teams battle through a high-stakes, single-elimination bracket. All playoff matches are Best-of-3, leading up to the legendary Best-of-5 Grand Final for the trophy and the $500,000 grand prize.
