★ Skeleton Knife | Stained (Well-Worn)
The ★ Skeleton Knife | Stained (Well-Worn) is a Covert knife skin with the same forced patina finish, shown here in a more heavily used state. It's a more accessible way into the finish for buyers who don't need the cleanest grade.
Design
The patina on Stained comes from lemon and mustard dripped onto the blade during a forced-aging process, leaving blotchy discoloration rather than a painted design. That mottled character carries through every wear grade, this one included.
★ Skeleton Knife | Stained (Well-Worn) Float and Wear
Well-Worn covers 0.38-0.45 on the float scale, the second-most-worn of the finish's five grades. Heavier scuffing sits on top of the patina blotches here, making the blade look noticeably rougher than at Field-Tested, though the stained texture is still clearly the design.
Skeleton Knife | Stained Rarity
This finish is Covert star - a rare special ("knife") item and the gold tier of case drop, distinct from a regular weapon skin. Any knife pull is uncommon, and Stained is one of several finishes that can come up within that rare category.
Skeleton Knife | Stained Case and Collection
Stained comes from two sources, the Shattered Web Case and the Fracture Case. Rare special items land at about 0.26% of case openings as a group, a rate shared across the entire knife pool rather than tied to this finish alone, which is then rolled separately.
Skeleton Knife Patterns
The patina's blotch pattern is seed-driven on Stained, so copies at the same wear grade can still look different from each other - there's no blue-gem tier, but a cleaner seed is genuinely worth more to collectors than a patchier one.
StatTrak & Souvenir
Because this finish drops from a case, a StatTrak™ version exists with a permanent kill counter that stays attached through trades and sales. Souvenir isn't an option here or on any knife, since that variant only comes from Major-tournament packages.
Skeleton Knife | Stained Price
Well-Worn sits near the bottom of the Stained ladder, a more accessible way into the finish for buyers who don't need the cleanest grade, even though every grade of this knife remains a premium item overall. It's available to buy on Skin.Land with instant delivery and no hidden fees.
FAQ
How rough does Well-Worn Stained look?
Noticeably worn - extra scuffing sits on top of the existing patina blotches, giving the blade a rougher, busier surface than Field-Tested. It's still short of the heaviest wear seen on Battle-Scarred, but clearly a used-looking copy.
Is Well-Worn a smart pick over Field-Tested?
It comes down to budget. Field-Tested looks noticeably cleaner for a moderate price increase, so it suits most buyers, while Well-Worn is the move if you want the lowest price short of Battle-Scarred and don't mind the extra scuffing.
Does the patina seed still matter at heavier wear grades?
Yes. Seed-driven variation in the patina spread applies across all five wear grades, not just the cleanest ones, so a well-seeded Well-Worn copy can still look tidier than a patchier one at the same grade.
