AK-47 | Safari Mesh (Minimal Wear)
The AK-47 | Safari Mesh (Minimal Wear) is an Industrial Grade rifle skin in a gray, khaki-toned safari mesh camo, one grade down from Factory New. It keeps a tidy look while shaving the price even lower, making it an easy budget pick.
Design
Safari Mesh is a muted gray, khaki-toned camo created by spray-painting through mesh fencing and cardboard cutout stencils, which gives it that netted, patchy texture. It's a Valve-made finish, and it comes with the fitting in-game line: "A predator is a predator, no matter the environment."
AK-47 | Safari Mesh (Minimal Wear) Float and Wear
At Minimal Wear the camo picks up only the faintest wear, and the muted tones hide what little there is, so it still reads as clean at a glance. A few light marks may show on the edges under close inspection, but nothing that breaks the look. It's a near-Factory-New appearance for a slightly lower price, which suits the skin's budget nature well.
AK-47 | Safari Mesh Rarity
This finish is Industrial Grade — the light-blue tier, low among the standard weapon grades and just a step above Consumer Grade. As one of the more common rarities, it's a big reason the skin stays so affordable.
AK-47 | Safari Mesh Case and Collection
Safari Mesh belongs to The Dust 2 Collection, which arrived in November 2013 with the "Out with the old, in with the new" update. It doesn't drop from a weapon case; instead it comes through the collection and its Souvenir packages, so supply relies on those sources rather than case openings.
AK-47 | Safari Mesh Patterns
Safari Mesh has no random paint-seed variation to chase — the mesh camo lands much the same on every copy, so there's no "blue gem" pattern lottery here. Wear and float are the only things that meaningfully tell one copy from another.
StatTrak & Souvenir
Safari Mesh has no StatTrak version — StatTrak weapons are minted only as special drops from weapon cases, and since this finish isn't distributed through a StatTrak-enabled case, no kill-counter variant is made. A Souvenir version does exist, though: Souvenir weapons come from Major-tournament souvenir packages, and Safari Mesh first appeared in the DreamHack 2013 Souvenir Package.
AK-47 | Safari Mesh Price
Minimal Wear sits just below Factory New on this finish's ladder, offering nearly the same tidy look for a touch less. Like the rest of the range it's firmly a budget buy within the AK-47 lineup, not a skin you pay real money for. It's available to buy on Skin.Land with instant delivery and no hidden fees.
FAQ
Does the Minimal Wear grade look worn?
Barely. The muted gray camo naturally disguises light wear, so a Minimal Wear copy reads as clean to most eyes, with only faint edge marks on close inspection. It's the sweet spot for players who want a neat safari finish without paying the small Factory New premium.
Is Minimal Wear the best value Safari Mesh?
For many buyers, yes. It looks almost identical to Factory New but usually costs a little less, and it's comfortably ahead of Field-Tested on condition. That said, the whole finish is cheap, so the smart move is often just grabbing whichever nearby grade is priced lowest at the moment.
Which gloves go with the AK-47 | Safari Mesh?
Its gray-and-khaki camo suits an earthy, military loadout, so olive, tan, or gray gloves work best — think desert or field tones that echo the safari palette rather than bright colors. Neutral wraps keep the understated, utilitarian vibe the finish is going for.
