AWP | Chromatic Aberration (Minimal Wear)
The AWP | Chromatic Aberration (Minimal Wear) is a Covert sniper skin with a light body and a deliberate RGB color-split effect. Minimal Wear keeps the cyan-and-magenta fringing looking almost untouched while costing a step less than the top grade.
Design
The finish mimics the color split of a misaligned camera lens or a glitching screen: its color channels are printed out of alignment, so a light base takes on cyan and magenta ghosting along every edge. Community artist kosear built the design around chromatic motifs, and it comes with a wink of a caption: "(Not so) easy on the eyes..."
AWP | Chromatic Aberration (Minimal Wear) Float and Wear
At Minimal Wear the finish takes on only the faintest abrasion, usually along the scope housing and the sharper edges of the body. Because the base is so pale, the little wear that exists is technically visible up close, but at a glance the color offset still reads bright and legible. It's the value-minded route to a copy that looks nearly grade-A.
AWP | Chromatic Aberration Rarity
Rarity: Covert — the red tier, which is the highest grade of standard weapon skins, ranking above Classified and behind only knives and gloves. Pulling one straight from a case is among the rarer outcomes.
AWP | Chromatic Aberration Case and Collection
Chromatic Aberration comes from The Recoil Collection and drops out of the Recoil Case, which released on July 1, 2022. Being a Covert, it shares the roughly 0.64% red-tier drop chance spread across the case's Covert skins — the odds belong to the tier, not this single finish — so it's a scarce pull, and most copies change hands on the market rather than fresh from the case.
AWP | Chromatic Aberration Patterns
There's no random pattern variation on Chromatic Aberration — the offset color channels sit the same way on every copy, so no paint seed or blue gem is worth chasing. Wear and float are all that separate one unit from the next.
StatTrak & Souvenir
A StatTrak™ version does exist — it adds a confirmed-kill counter, drops more rarely and for more money from the Recoil Case, and its counter keeps tracking kills permanently as the item is traded or sold. A Souvenir edition doesn't exist: Souvenir weapons come only through Major-tournament souvenir packages, and the Recoil Case was never part of a Major drop.
AWP | Chromatic Aberration Price
Minimal Wear sits just under Factory New on the skin's ladder — a small saving for a look that's hard to tell apart in-scope. For an affordable mid-tier AWP that already undercuts the true grails, it's the grade most buyers who want a near-mint copy actually settle on. It's available to buy on Skin.Land with instant delivery and no hidden fees.
FAQ
Does the Minimal Wear copy look worn?
Barely. The abrasion sits low and mostly hides on the scope and edges, so from a normal viewing distance the color-split effect looks intact. The pale base means a trained eye can find faint marks up close, but for most players Minimal Wear passes as near-mint while saving money over Factory New.
Is Minimal Wear the best value grade?
For a lot of buyers, yes. It costs less than Factory New yet keeps almost the same visual punch, so you pay mainly for the glitch rather than for a spotless surface. Field-Tested drops the price further if you're happy to accept clearer wear on the light body.
Does Chromatic Aberration hold its value?
It's a Covert from a fixed-supply case that's out of active rotation, so supply can't grow. That underpins the finish rather than making it spike — it trades as a steady, affordable mid-tier AWP whose demand comes from the standout glitch look rather than pure scarcity hype.
