AWP | Dragon Lore (Field-Tested)

The AWP | Dragon Lore (Field-Tested) is a Covert sniper skin carrying the game's most famous dragon artwork, in its most commonly traded condition. Field-Tested is the grade most copies change hands in — honest, visible wear on a skin whose scarcity keeps it firmly in grail territory regardless.

Design

Made in-house by Valve instead of coming from the community, the Dragon Lore wears an ornate knotwork dragon custom painted across the rifle in warm gold and green tones. It's the studio indulging a mythological, almost heraldic style, and it's paired with the well-known in-game line: "200 keys could never unlock its secrets."

AWP | Dragon Lore (Field-Tested) Float and Wear

At Field-Tested the finish picks up light scratching along the rails and edges and the artwork softens a touch, but the dragon motif stays fully legible and the gold and green tones stay vivid. This is the condition most copies trade in, and for many buyers it's the practical sweet spot — the complete Dragon Lore look a step down from the higher grades.

AWP | Dragon Lore Rarity

Rarity: Covert. The red tier stands at the very top of the standard weapon rarity grades, and on the AWP it ranks the Dragon Lore among the most coveted skins in the game — the most exclusive slot a weapon can fill.

AWP | Dragon Lore Case and Collection

Introduced with Operation Breakout in July 2014, the Dragon Lore is part of The Cobblestone Collection. As a Covert it's the rarest grade in the set — the Covert tier sits at roughly 0.64% (shared across the tier's skins) — and with copies only ever coming from Cobblestone souvenir packages distributed at Majors, the pool is fixed and tiny, one of the main reasons the skin trades as high as it does.

AWP | Dragon Lore Patterns

Pattern variation doesn't factor into the Dragon Lore — the knotwork dragon is placed identically on every copy, so there's no paint seed or blue-gem hunt to chase. Only float and wear distinguish one from the next, though Souvenir copies decorated with tournament stickers can carry vast premiums of their own.

StatTrak & Souvenir

A StatTrak Dragon Lore doesn't exist — StatTrak weapons originate from cases that include a StatTrak variant, and this finish was never in such a case. Its Souvenir version, though, is the stuff of legend: because Souvenir weapons come only from Major-tournament souvenir packages and Cobblestone featured as a Major map, packages such as the ESL One Cologne 2014 Cobblestone Souvenir Package could deliver a Souvenir Dragon Lore — behind the record-breaking sales the skin is famous for.

AWP | Dragon Lore Price

Field-Tested lands in the middle of the Dragon Lore range — more attainable than the higher grades yet still a high-end, grail-tier skin that runs to four figures and beyond. It's also the most liquid grade, changing hands more often than any other exterior. It's available to buy on Skin.Land with instant delivery and no hidden fees.

FAQ

Does the Field-Tested Dragon Lore look worn?

A little, but not badly. You'll see light scratching on the rails and edges and a slight softening of the surface, yet the dragon artwork and its gold-and-green palette stay clearly on display. At normal in-game distances it still presents as the unmistakable Dragon Lore, which is why the grade is so popular.

Why is Field-Tested the most common Dragon Lore?

Because the finish spans a wide float range and a large share of drops land in the Field-Tested band. That makes it the exterior you'll see traded most often, and the deeper pool of listings tends to keep it the more reachable grade relative to the near-mint conditions above it.

Is the Field-Tested Dragon Lore still a grail?

Absolutely. Even at this exterior the skin's scarcity and prestige keep it in four-figure-plus, grail-tier territory. Field-Tested simply offers the most realistic route into ownership — you get the full look and the same legendary status without chasing the very top floats.
