AWP | Dragon Lore (Minimal Wear)
The AWP | Dragon Lore (Minimal Wear) is a Covert sniper skin — the legendary gold-and-green knotwork dragon, here with only the faintest signs of handling. Minimal Wear keeps the artwork nearly pristine while sitting a notch below the untouchable Factory New price.
Design
An in-house Valve creation rather than a community submission, the Dragon Lore is custom painted with an elaborate knotwork dragon that winds along the rifle's body in warm gold and green tones. It's Valve reaching for mythological, near-heraldic detailing, and it comes with the celebrated in-game line: "200 keys could never unlock its secrets."
AWP | Dragon Lore (Minimal Wear) Float and Wear
At Minimal Wear the dragon artwork stays richly detailed, with the gold and green tones holding strong and only trace wear along the extreme edges. It's a half-step down from Factory New that most eyes struggle to tell apart, which makes it a favorite for buyers who want near-top condition without paying the absolute peak of the range.
AWP | Dragon Lore Rarity
Rarity: Covert — the red tier and the highest of the standard weapon rarity grades. On the AWP, that puts the Dragon Lore among the single most coveted skins in the game, occupying the most exclusive slot a weapon can hold.
AWP | Dragon Lore Case and Collection
The Dragon Lore is a finish from The Cobblestone Collection, which arrived with Operation Breakout in July 2014. Being a Covert, it's the scarcest grade in the set — the Covert tier comes in around 0.64% (shared across the tier's skins) — and since copies only ever emerged from Cobblestone souvenir packages given out at Majors, the supply is fixed and extremely limited, which does much to explain the prices it commands.
AWP | Dragon Lore Patterns
There's no random pattern variation on the Dragon Lore — the knotwork dragon lands the same way on every copy, so no paint seed or blue-gem chase applies. Float and wear are all that tell one apart from another, although Souvenir copies wearing tournament stickers can command huge premiums in their own right.
StatTrak & Souvenir
No StatTrak Dragon Lore was ever made — StatTrak weapons come from cases that ship with a StatTrak variant, and this finish never appeared in such a case. The Souvenir version, however, is legendary: since Souvenir weapons drop only from Major-tournament souvenir packages and Cobblestone was a Major map, packages like the ESL One Cologne 2014 Cobblestone Souvenir Package could produce a Souvenir Dragon Lore — the source of the record-breaking sales tied to the skin.
AWP | Dragon Lore Price
Minimal Wear sits just below Factory New near the top of the Dragon Lore ladder — still a four-figure-plus, grail-tier purchase, but a meaningful saving over the flawless grade for a look that's nearly identical. It's available to buy on Skin.Land with instant delivery and no hidden fees.
FAQ
How much wear shows at Minimal Wear?
Very little. Expect only the faintest scuffing at the edges and rails, nothing that touches the dragon artwork itself. The gold and green detailing holds its full richness, so a Minimal Wear copy reads as near-flawless at any normal viewing distance in-game.
Is Minimal Wear a smart value on the Dragon Lore?
For most collectors, yes. It looks all but identical to Factory New while costing meaningfully less, so you get the top-tier appearance without paying for the single best float on the market. That gap is why many buyers who want a high-grade Dragon Lore settle here rather than at Factory New.
Does Minimal Wear look different from Factory New?
Barely. Side by side you might spot marginally more edge wear on Minimal Wear, but the dragon motif, the gold tones, and the overall impression are essentially the same. The difference is more about float number and prestige than anything your eye picks up during a match.
