AWP | Fade (Factory New)
The AWP | Fade (Factory New) is a Covert sniper rifle skin — an airbrushed pink-to-yellow gradient laid over a mirror-bright chrome base. Factory New is the top grade, showing the gradient at full saturation with the reflective base untouched.
Design
Fade is built from transparent pink and yellow paints airbrushed over a chrome base coat, so light bounces up through the color and gives the gradient a candy-like glow rather than a flat print. It's a Valve-made finish, and it carries a fitting in-game line: "This isn't just a weapon, it's a conversation piece."
AWP | Fade (Factory New) Float and Wear
The finish is float-capped at 0.08, so it comes in only two grades and Factory New sits right at the top. At this level the chrome stays mirror-bright and the pink-to-yellow gradient reads at full strength, with no scratching to break up the reflective base. For a skin that lives and dies on fade coverage, this is the grade that shows it off best.
AWP | Fade Rarity
Rarity: Covert — the red tier, the highest of the standard weapon grades. Covert skins are the rarest normal drops, a genuinely hard pull and a big part of why the Fade sits where it does.
AWP | Fade Case and Collection
The AWP | Fade belongs to The Control Collection, introduced with Operation Broken Fang in December 2020. It isn't tied to a weapon case — Control Collection skins arrived as operation drops rather than case unboxings, so it appears in no case loot list. With the operation long over, supply is fixed, and copies now change hands on the market or come out of trade-up contracts rather than fresh drops.
AWP | Fade Patterns
Fade coverage, not wear, is what separates one copy from the next. A full 100% fade — roughly a third yellow with the rest mostly pink and a sliver of purple tucked into the corner — is the most coveted result, and seed 412 is regarded as the single best pattern for hitting it. Seeds 602, 359 and 649 follow close behind. Full-fade copies are scarce and carry a steep premium over lower-percentage patterns.
StatTrak & Souvenir
There's no StatTrak version — StatTrak weapons come only out of weapon cases, and this finish is a Control Collection drop with no case behind it. There's no Souvenir version either: Souvenir weapons are produced only from Major-tournament souvenir packages, and The Control Collection has never been a Major drop.
AWP | Fade Price
Factory New is the higher of the skin's two grades and the more expensive of the pair. Fade as a whole is a high-end, grail-tier AWP — one of the most prestigious finishes the rifle has — so expect it to command serious money, and more still on a full-fade copy. It's available to buy on Skin.Land with instant delivery and no hidden fees.
FAQ
Which is the best AWP | Fade pattern?
Seed 412 is regarded as the number-one pattern for landing a full 100% fade — roughly a third yellow with the rest pink and a touch of purple in the corner. Seeds 602, 359 and 649 rank right behind it. Full-fade copies are scarce and sell for a steep premium over lower-percentage patterns, whatever the exterior grade.
Is Factory New worth the premium over Minimal Wear?
For a chrome skin, often yes, if budget allows — the reflective base shows even faint scuffing, so the top grade keeps the mirror look sharpest. That said, fade coverage matters more to most buyers than a sliver of float, so a full-fade Minimal Wear can easily out-value a partial-fade Factory New.
What makes the Fade so expensive?
Three things stack up: it's a Covert AWP, it comes from a retired collection with no case producing new copies, and its mirror-chrome gradient is among the most eye-catching finishes on the rifle. A full-fade pattern like seed 412 pushes the price higher still, since the widest color spread is the rarest roll.
