AWP | Safari Mesh (Well-Worn)
The AWP | Safari Mesh (Well-Worn) is an Industrial Grade sniper rifle skin in a gray safari-style mesh camo, here in a more weathered state. It's a cheaper way into the finish, with heavier field wear the muted pattern still partly shrugs off.
Design
Underneath the wear sits a subdued gray camouflage laid down as a mesh-fence weave across the AWP. Valve created the finish by spraying through mesh fencing and cardboard cutouts as stencils — an improvised approach that gives the camo its rugged, made-in-the-field look. A fitting in-game line rides along: "A predator is a predator, no matter the environment."
AWP | Safari Mesh (Well-Worn) Float and Wear
At Well-Worn the camo shows clear scuffing and thinning across the body and edges, where the paint gives way. That said, the earthy gray palette is forgiving of grime — the wear almost reads as part of the safari theme rather than damage. For players who care more about price than surface polish, this grade delivers the look for less.
AWP | Safari Mesh Rarity
Rarity: Industrial Grade, the light-blue tier — one of the lowest on the standard weapon scale, seated just above Consumer Grade. Being a common grade, it's easy to source and keeps the skin firmly in budget territory.
AWP | Safari Mesh Case and Collection
Part of The Lake Collection, this finish launched with the "Out with the old, in with the new" update in November 2013. It isn't tied to any weapon case; instead the collection was distributed through souvenir packages, the first of which was the DreamHack 2013 Souvenir Package.
AWP | Safari Mesh Patterns
Pattern-wise every copy is the same — the stencil camo doesn't roll randomly, so there's no paint seed or "blue gem" chase to speak of. The differences between copies come down purely to their wear and float values.
StatTrak & Souvenir
You won't find a StatTrak version of this AWP. StatTrak editions are seeded into weapon cases, and Safari Mesh has only ever come from souvenir packages, so no kill-counter copy was made. A Souvenir version does exist, and it first entered circulation via the DreamHack 2013 Souvenir Package.
AWP | Safari Mesh Price
Well-Worn sits low on this skin's ladder, under Field-Tested and above only Battle-Scarred — a budget route into the camo for players skipping the mid-grade premium. Given the finish is already affordable mid-tier for the AWP, this grade lands among the cheapest ways to run it. It's available on Skin.Land with instant delivery and no hidden fees.
FAQ
How rough does the Well-Worn Safari Mesh look?
Fairly weathered. Expect visible scuffing and paint thinning across the body and edges — more than Field-Tested but short of the heavy battering at Battle-Scarred. On this earthy camo the wear blends into the theme, so it still passes as a rugged field weapon rather than a wreck.
Is Well-Worn worth buying over Field-Tested?
Mostly if price is the deciding factor. Field-Tested looks a fair bit tidier for a small step up in cost, so most buyers lean that way. Well-Worn earns its place when you want the Safari Mesh camo as cheaply as possible without dropping all the way to Battle-Scarred.
Does Safari Mesh have a Souvenir edition?
It does. The Souvenir AWP | Safari Mesh comes from The Lake Collection's souvenir packages, first the DreamHack 2013 Souvenir Package. Those copies wear event stickers and drop details, making them distinct collectibles compared with the standard market version.
