AWP | The Prince (Field-Tested)
The AWP | The Prince (Field-Tested) is a Covert sniper skin showing its red-and-gold, portrait-based design with a touch of honest wear. It's the most accessible way into one of CS2's premier grail AWPs — several grades down from mint, yet still unmistakably The Prince.
Design
Rather than the camo and tech patterns most AWPs favor, The Prince goes for old-world opulence — a deep red base laced with gold filigree and an ornate regal portrait pressed into the metal, a rich and almost heraldic design. It's an in-house Valve creation, and it comes with the courtly line "Peace be with thee."
AWP | The Prince (Field-Tested) Float and Wear
At Field-Tested light scuffing appears along the edges and raised metal, and a little of the gold's shine softens, but the portrait and the red base stay fully legible and the finish still photographs richly. This is where many buyers land: the design's full character for the smallest outlay among the cleaner grades.
AWP | The Prince Rarity
Its grade is Covert, the red tier: the highest of the ordinary weapon rarities, ranking above Classified and yielding only to the ★ knife-and-glove class. That makes it the rarest color a sniper or rifle skin can hold, and The Prince ranks among the scarcer Coverts in circulation.
AWP | The Prince Case and Collection
Part of The Canals Collection, The Prince debuted with the November 2019 Operation Shattered Web update. Because the collection has no weapon case attached, its skins only enter the game as rare drops or as trade-up contract outputs rather than from opening keys — a route that keeps genuine copies thin on the ground and helps explain the finish's price.
AWP | The Prince Patterns
The Prince is fixed from copy to copy: the red base, the gold filigree, and the regal portrait sit in exactly the same place every time, meaning there's no paint seed, phase, or "blue gem" to chase. What distinguishes two examples is nothing more than wear and float.
StatTrak & Souvenir
You won't find a StatTrak The Prince: StatTrak items are unboxed from weapon cases, and this finish comes from a case-free collection, so a kill counter was never on the table. A Souvenir edition is likewise absent — those appear only through Major-tournament souvenir packages, and The Canals Collection has never been a Major drop.
AWP | The Prince Price
Field-Tested is the practical entry point to the finish — cheaper than the two top grades while keeping the whole design intact, so it's the wear most people actually buy when they want a Prince without grail-tier outlay. Still a premium AWP, just the least punishing way in. It's available on Skin.Land with instant delivery and no hidden fees.
FAQ
Does the Field-Tested The Prince look worn?
Only mildly. You'll see some edge scuffing and a slightly duller gold up close, but at gameplay distance the red base, filigree, and portrait all read clearly. The ornate design carries enough visual weight that a little wear tends to read as patina rather than obvious damage.
Is Field-Tested the best value The Prince?
For getting the look for less, yes. It's markedly cheaper than Factory New and Minimal Wear while preserving the full design, and it's more plentiful on the market. If you want the lowest price and don't mind heavier scuffing, Well-Worn and Battle-Scarred drop further still.
Can I get The Prince from a trade-up?
Yes. As a Covert in The Canals Collection, it can be produced by a trade-up contract using Classified skins from the same collection — never by opening a case, since the collection has none. It's a long-odds route, though, so most players simply buy the wear they want directly.
