AWP | The Prince (Minimal Wear)
The AWP | The Prince (Minimal Wear) is a Covert sniper skin with a red base, gold filigree, and a regal portrait, sitting one grade below Factory New. It keeps almost all of the finish's showpiece detail while easing off the top-grade premium.
Design
A deep red base carries sweeping gold filigree and an ornate regal portrait set into the metal, giving The Prince a lavish, near-heraldic character that chases old-world luxury instead of the tech-and-camo direction most AWPs take. The finish is Valve's own in-house work, complete with a courtly inscription: "Peace be with thee."
AWP | The Prince (Minimal Wear) Float and Wear
At Minimal Wear the finish stays close to mint — the gold work and portrait remain crisp, with only the faintest touch of wear that most eyes will never spot at range. It's the grade for buyers who want a near-pristine Prince without paying the full Factory New tax, and it turns up in stock a good deal more often than the top condition.
AWP | The Prince Rarity
The Prince carries Covert rarity — the red tier that sits at the very top of the standard weapon grades, one rung above Classified and beneath only the ★ knife-and-glove class. No rifle or sniper finish can wear a rarer color, and this is one of the scarcer Coverts around.
AWP | The Prince Case and Collection
The Prince comes from The Canals Collection, which arrived alongside the Operation Shattered Web update in November 2019. No weapon case backs this collection — its skins reach players as rare drops and through trade-up contracts instead of key-opened boxes, so real copies stay scarce. That case-free, fixed supply is a big reason the finish trades at the level it does.
AWP | The Prince Patterns
There's no random pattern variation on The Prince — the red base, gold filigree, and portrait land identically on every copy, so no paint seed, "blue gem", or phase exists to hunt for. Only wear and float separate one example from the next.
StatTrak & Souvenir
This finish has no StatTrak edition — StatTrak weapons come out of weapon cases, and The Prince belongs to a collection with no case behind it, so a kill counter was never an option. There's no Souvenir version either, since Souvenir skins drop solely from Major-tournament souvenir packages and The Canals Collection has never featured in a Major.
AWP | The Prince Price
Minimal Wear is the second-dearest condition, just under Factory New and clearly above the mid-range wears. You give up a sliver of surface perfection for a meaningful saving, which makes it the value pick among the high grades of this grail-tier AWP. It's available on Skin.Land with instant delivery and no hidden fees.
FAQ
Is Minimal Wear worth it over Factory New?
For most buyers, yes. The red base and gold detailing look nearly identical to Factory New at any normal viewing distance, yet this grade costs a good deal less and shows up in stock more often. Save the Factory New premium for pure collectors who specifically want the very top condition.
Does The Prince hold its value?
It has the ingredients collectors reward — Covert rarity, a case-free collection with fixed supply, and standout looks that keep demand steady. Skins with a hard supply ceiling and lasting appeal tend to hold up well over time, and The Prince fits that profile better than the great majority of AWP finishes.
Who designed The Prince?
It's a Valve in-house finish rather than a community Workshop submission. The design leans on a regal portrait and gold filigree over a red base — a deliberately luxurious, heraldic theme — and it carries the courtly in-game inscription "Peace be with thee".
