Desert Eagle | Directive (Field-Tested)
The Desert Eagle | Directive (Field-Tested) is a Restricted pistol skin with a Patina finish — a slide of textured metal panels in blue and brown over a black grip, now carrying honest wear. Field-Tested is the most common way to own it and the point where the patina starts to show its character.
Design
The look is industrial: textured panels running across the slide, painted unevenly in blue and brown, with the grip and small parts kept black. Because it's a Patina finish, that coloring comes from a simulated oxidized-metal coat instead of a printed decal. Millenia and Primrose created it as a community submission, and it comes with the in-game line: "Your move..."
Desert Eagle | Directive (Field-Tested) Float and Wear
The finish covers the full 0.06–1.00 float scale, and Field-Tested sits in the middle of it. Here the patina deepens noticeably — the slide picks up more oxidation and the blue-and-brown panels take on a darker, more weathered cast, though the panel layout stays clearly readable. It's the grade most people picture for this skin: visible age without losing the design.
Desert Eagle Directive Rarity
Rarity: Restricted — the purple tier, positioned above Mil-Spec and below Classified in the standard weapon grades. Pulling one from a case is a solid mid-high result.
Desert Eagle Directive Case and Collection
The Directive sits in The Gamma 2 Collection and is unboxed from the Gamma 2 Case, released on August 18, 2016. As a group the Restricted tier drops around 15.98% of the time from the case (the figure is shared across the tier's skins), and because the Gamma 2 Case is no longer in the active drop pool, supply stays fixed — the market, not unboxing, is where most copies come from.
Desert Eagle Directive Patterns
Because the panels and coloring sit the same way on every Directive, the finish has no random pattern variation — nothing like a paint seed or "blue gem" to track down. Copies differ only by wear and float.
StatTrak & Souvenir
You can also find a StatTrak™ Directive, which tacks on a confirmed-kill counter; it's scarcer and more expensive than the standard drop, and the counter is permanent, following the item through every trade or sale. There's no Souvenir variant — Souvenir weapons only come from Major-tournament packages, and this finish shipped through the Gamma 2 Case rather than a Major.
Desert Eagle Directive Price
Field-Tested is the accessible middle of the range — cheaper than the higher grades while keeping the full industrial design intact, which is a big part of why it's the most traded condition. A premium finish that stays easy on the wallet here. It's available to buy on Skin.Land with instant delivery and no hidden fees.
FAQ
How worn does the Field-Tested Directive look?
Moderately. The patina is heavier than on the cleaner grades, so the slide reads darker and more weathered, and the blue-and-brown panels lose a little brightness. It's still well short of the heavy oxidation on Well-Worn or Battle-Scarred, and the panel design stays fully legible at a glance.
Is Field-Tested the best value Directive?
For many buyers, yes. It's the most common grade and priced below Minimal Wear and Factory New while keeping the whole design readable. Well-Worn and Battle-Scarred cost less again if you want the lowest entry point and don't mind the patina taking over more of the body.
Does the Patina finish age differently than a painted skin?
It does. Rather than scratches revealing bare metal, the Directive's patina spreads and darkens as float climbs, so higher wear looks like deeper oxidation across the slide. At Field-Tested that shows as a richer, more aged tone while the panel structure still comes through clearly.
