Desert Eagle | Heat Treated (Field-Tested)
The Desert Eagle | Heat Treated (Field-Tested) is a Classified pistol skin with a color case-hardened slide that mixes blue, purple, and coppery gold. Field-Tested is the most common way to own the finish — a little honest wear on the metal for a mid-range price.
Design
This is a Valve finish in the "Case Hardening" style: the steel was color case-hardened using wood charcoal at high heat, staining it in mottled blues, violets, and warm gold. There's no decal or graphic here — the appeal is the metallic texture itself, backed by the in-game line "A little color never hurt anyone."
Desert Eagle | Heat Treated (Field-Tested) Float and Wear
Running the full 0.00–1.00 float range, this finish exists in every grade. Field-Tested sits in the middle, where light scratching starts to show on the slide and edges but the case-hardened coloring still reads clearly. It's the grade most players land on, balancing a visible-but-modest amount of wear against a lower cost than the cleaner grades.
Desert Eagle | Heat Treated Rarity
Rarity: Classified — the pink grade, ranked directly below Covert and second from the top among the standard weapon tiers. It's genuinely uncommon.
Desert Eagle | Heat Treated Case and Collection
This finish sits outside any active case or collection drop, so it can't be unboxed from a current container — it lives on the market. With supply fixed rather than flowing from openings, buyers source copies through listings.
Desert Eagle | Heat Treated Patterns
Every copy is stained a little differently, because color case-hardening is a randomized process — the balance of blue, purple, and gold shifts from one Deagle to another. That's why the paint seed matters: heavily blue copies draw collector interest, while warmer, more coppery seeds are more ordinary.
StatTrak & Souvenir
There is no StatTrak variant. StatTrak is seeded through weapon cases, and because Heat Treated isn't part of an active case drop, a kill-counter version was never issued. Souvenir is out as well — those weapons are produced only from Major-tournament packages, and this finish has never appeared as a Major drop.
Desert Eagle | Heat Treated Price
Field-Tested is the value heart of the range: cheaper than the two higher grades while still showing off the case-hardened colors clearly. It keeps the skin in affordable mid-tier Deagle territory and is the most-listed grade to boot. It's available to buy on Skin.Land with instant delivery and no hidden fees.
FAQ
Does the Field-Tested version look worn?
Mildly. Expect light scratching along the slide and edges, more than Minimal Wear but well short of the heavier grades. The case-hardened coloring anchors the look regardless, so the Deagle still reads clearly as a Heat Treated in-game even with that modest wear showing.
Is Field-Tested the best value grade?
For most buyers it is. It costs noticeably less than Minimal Wear and Factory New while keeping the colors legible, and it's the easiest grade to find on the market. Well-Worn and Battle-Scarred go cheaper still if you want the lowest entry price and don't mind heavier wear.
Can I still get a blue copy at Field-Tested?
Yes. Color and wear are separate: the blue-purple-gold spread comes from the paint seed, so a strongly blue copy can exist at any grade, including Field-Tested. You'd just accept the light surface scratching of this grade in exchange for a lower price than the cleaner tiers.
