FAMAS | Sergeant (Field-Tested)
The FAMAS | Sergeant (Field-Tested) is a Restricted rifle skin wearing a black military-style patina under a satin seal. Field-Tested brings a bit of honest handling to the surface while keeping the commanding look intact, for less than the top grade.
Design
The Sergeant's black patina comes from masking fluid applied at varying depths, giving it a military feel that's then locked in under a satin finish. It's the work of community artist Coridium, who paired it with the line "Lead by example."
FAMAS | Sergeant (Field-Tested) Float and Wear
Float on this finish runs from 0.10 up to 1.00, since no Factory New copies exist, and Field-Tested sits in the lower-middle of that range. Light surface wear starts to show through the satin coat here, softening the patina slightly, but the overall black military look still holds up at a glance.
FAMAS | Sergeant Rarity
The Sergeant is a Restricted-grade skin — the purple tier below Classified and Covert, but still a step up from the common weapon grades.
FAMAS | Sergeant Case and Collection
It comes from The Phoenix Collection via the Operation Phoenix Weapon Case, which launched with Operation Phoenix in February 2014. The Restricted tier as a whole pulls from that case at roughly 15.98%, a rate that's shared across the tier rather than specific to this finish, and since the case is retired from active drops, supply now mostly comes from the market.
FAMAS | Sergeant Patterns
As a patina finish, the Sergeant has no rare "blue gem" tier, but the depth of the masking-fluid patina does shift from seed to seed, so copies aren't perfectly identical the way a fixed-decal skin would be. Some collectors do shop specifically for a cleaner, more even patina.
StatTrak & Souvenir
Both a standard and a StatTrak copy of this finish exist, the StatTrak version adding a permanent confirmed-kill counter that stays with the item through trades and sales. No Souvenir version was ever made, since that category comes exclusively from Major-tournament packages this finish never appeared in.
FAMAS | Sergeant Price
Field-Tested lands in the middle of the price ladder, cheaper than Minimal Wear while still showing the black military patina clearly. It remains a premium finish overall, just a more accessible entry point than the top grade. It's available to buy on Skin.Land with instant delivery and no hidden fees.
FAQ
Does Field-Tested wear look bad on the Sergeant?
Not particularly. The dark base does a decent job hiding light wear, so a Field-Tested copy still reads as a clean-looking military finish from normal distance, with just a touch of softness visible up close.
Is Field-Tested the best value grade for this skin?
For most buyers, yes — it costs less than Minimal Wear while keeping the look largely intact. Well-Worn and Battle-Scarred drop the price further if you're prioritizing cost over surface condition.
How rare is the Sergeant compared to other Phoenix Collection skins?
It's Restricted rarity, which sits below Classified and Covert but is still an uncommon pull. The Restricted tier from the Operation Phoenix Weapon Case drops as a group at around 15.98%.
