Glock-18 | Grinder (Factory New)
The Glock-18 | Grinder (Factory New) is a Restricted pistol skin, its steel slide finished in an abstract, hand-painted design. Factory New is the cleanest grade the finish comes in, showing that artwork at its sharpest.
Design
The Grinder's steel slide is painted using a combination of stenciling and hand-painting in oil paints, an approach that gives it an art-forward, abstract character rather than a printed-decal look. It's the work of community designer Algis, whose style blends abstract art with functional weapon design, and it carries a fitting in-game line: "The only way to make diamonds is by applying pressure."
Glock-18 | Grinder (Factory New) Float and Wear
This finish rolls across float 0.02–0.25, and Factory New sits at the low end below 0.07. At this grade the oil-painted slide reads at its most vivid, with the brushwork and stencil edges crisp and no scuffing to speak of. For collectors who want the design exactly as its maker intended, this is the top grade to reach for.
Glock-18 | Grinder Rarity
Rarity: Restricted — the purple tier, sitting above Mil-Spec and below Classified among the standard weapon grades. It's an uncommon grade to pull from a case.
Glock-18 | Grinder Case and Collection
The Grinder belongs to The Vanguard Collection and drops from the Operation Vanguard Weapon Case, released with Operation Vanguard in November 2014. The Restricted tier as a whole unboxes roughly 15.98% of the time from the case (a rate shared across the tier's skins), and with the case out of the active drop pool, supply is fixed — most copies come from the market rather than fresh unboxing.
Glock-18 | Grinder Patterns
The Grinder has no random pattern roll — the painted design lands the same way on every copy, so there's no paint seed or "blue gem" to chase. Wear and float are the only things separating one copy from the next.
StatTrak & Souvenir
A StatTrak™ Grinder exists and adds a confirmed-kill counter; it comes from the Operation Vanguard Weapon Case as a rarer, pricier drop than the standard skin, and the counter is permanent, carrying over when the item is traded or sold. There's no Souvenir version — Souvenir weapons come only from Major-tournament packages, and this skin's case was never part of a Major drop.
Glock-18 | Grinder Price
Factory New sits at the top of the finish's price ladder as the highest grade available — a step above Minimal Wear, though the skin overall lands in affordable mid-tier territory for a Glock rather than grail money. It's available to buy on Skin.Land with instant delivery and no hidden fees.
FAQ
Is Factory New worth it over Minimal Wear?
It depends on how much the surface matters to you. Factory New shows the oil-painted slide at its most vivid, with the stencil edges perfectly defined, but a low float cap keeps Minimal Wear looking close behind for less. Pay up for the sharpest artwork; otherwise Minimal Wear is the smarter value.
Which gloves go with the Grinder?
The abstract, painted slide is a versatile base, so neutral or darker gloves tend to work best — a muted gunmetal or black pair keeps the focus on the artwork without clashing. If you'd rather lean into the art-forward vibe, a subtly patterned glove complements the hand-painted look instead of fighting it.
Does the design differ from copy to copy?
No. Because the Grinder has no random pattern variation, every Factory New copy carries the same painted layout — only the float value, and therefore the visible wear, changes. That makes float the one number worth checking when comparing listings at this grade.
