M4A1-S | Boreal Forest (Factory New)
The M4A1-S | Boreal Forest (Factory New) is an Industrial Grade rifle skin wrapping the silenced M4 in a gray-and-green forest camouflage. Factory New is the top grade here, and a genuinely narrow one — the finish barely dips into the Factory New float band, so flawless copies are the rare exception rather than the norm.
Design
Boreal Forest is a Valve design that leans on a natural, woodland mood — muted gray and green hues laid down as a forest camouflage hydrographic, blending forest motifs into the M4A1-S body. It carries a fitting in-game line: "The woods can be a dangerous place... never travel alone."
M4A1-S | Boreal Forest (Factory New) Float and Wear
The finish runs across a float range of 0.06 to 0.80. Factory New sits right at that 0.06 floor, occupying only the thin sliver of the FN band the skin can reach, which makes top-grade copies scarce. At this level the camo pattern renders at its most legible and the green tones hold their fullest saturation, with no visible scuffing on the surface.
M4A1-S | Boreal Forest Rarity
Rarity: Industrial Grade — the light-blue tier, sitting near the bottom of the standard weapon grades, one step above Consumer. It's a common grade to come across, which keeps the skin approachable.
M4A1-S | Boreal Forest Case and Collection
The Boreal Forest belongs to The Italy Collection, which arrived with the "Out with the old, in with the new" update in November 2013. Rather than a weapon case, it reaches players through souvenir packages — the DreamHack 2013 Souvenir Package and the EMS One 2014 Souvenir Package — so most copies today change hands on the market.
M4A1-S | Boreal Forest Patterns
There's no random pattern chase on this finish — the forest camouflage hydrographic wraps every copy the same way, so there's no paint seed or "blue gem" to hunt. Wear and float are the only variables that set one from another.
StatTrak & Souvenir
There is no StatTrak version of the Boreal Forest. StatTrak weapons are minted only inside weapon cases, and this finish was never packed into one — it drops from souvenir packages instead. A Souvenir variant does exist, first appearing in the DreamHack 2013 Souvenir Package, with the tournament stickers and gold nameplate that mark souvenir items.
M4A1-S | Boreal Forest Price
Factory New sits at the top of this skin's price ladder, a small premium over Minimal Wear thanks to how rarely the finish rolls that low. Even so, the Boreal Forest is a budget-friendly M4A1-S overall, so the top grade stays affordable. It's available to buy on Skin.Land with instant delivery and no hidden fees.
FAQ
Why is Factory New Boreal Forest so rare?
Because the finish is float-capped at a 0.06 minimum, and the Factory New band ends at 0.07 — so only a razor-thin slice of possible rolls lands in FN. The game simply doesn't produce many copies that low, which makes Factory New the scarcest grade of the skin.
Is Factory New worth the premium over Minimal Wear?
Only if you want the top grade for its own sake. Factory New shows the camo at its most saturated with zero surface wear, but Minimal Wear looks nearly identical to the eye for less money. Pay up for the collector-grade finish; otherwise Minimal Wear is the smarter buy.
Which gloves go with the Boreal Forest?
Its gray-and-green woodland palette suits an earthy, military loadout, so olive, forest-green or tan gloves land best — think a green or camo-leaning pair to echo the forest motif. Neutral gray wraps also work if you'd rather keep the look understated.
