M4A1-S | Glitched Paint (Battle-Scarred)
The M4A1-S | Glitched Paint (Battle-Scarred) is a Restricted rifle skin in its most heavily worn condition, its glitch-inspired multicolored paint scuffed and faded. It's the cheapest way into the pixelated design, trading surface condition for the lowest entry price.
Design
Glitched Paint keeps chaos front and center: a multicolored abstract pattern of glitch-inspired digital strokes, pixelated and corrupted, wrapped around the silenced M4. It's Valve's own tech-forward concept, and it ships with a wry in-game line: "Please return to display after use."
M4A1-S | Glitched Paint (Battle-Scarred) Float and Wear
Battle-Scarred is the most worn grade, but this finish is float-capped at 0.67 rather than the full 1.0, so its copies never reach the extreme end of the wear scale — the damage is heavy but stops shy of a true maxed-out float. Combined with a busy multicolored pattern that hides scuffing, the design stays surprisingly legible even at its roughest.
M4A1-S | Glitched Paint Rarity
Rarity: Restricted — the blue grade, two tiers under Covert in the standard weapon hierarchy. It's a mid-high rarity: easy enough to run into, but still a level above the plainest drops.
M4A1-S | Glitched Paint Case and Collection
This finish sits in The Radiant Collection, which launched with the Spring Forward update in March 2025. As a Restricted-tier skin it appears about 15.98% of the time in the collection's drop pool — one of the more common finishes there — and most copies today are sourced from the market rather than fresh drops.
M4A1-S | Glitched Paint Patterns
Because the multicolored abstract pattern is applied identically to every copy, there's nothing like a paint seed or phase to chase here — no Doppler-style variants to compare. The only real differences between copies come down to wear and float.
StatTrak & Souvenir
No StatTrak version of this finish was ever released, so there's no kill-counter copy in circulation. And there's no Souvenir edition: Souvenir weapons originate solely from Major-tournament souvenir packages, and the collection this skin comes from has never been a Major drop.
M4A1-S | Glitched Paint Price
Battle-Scarred is the cheapest grade of the finish — the entry-level way to run the glitchy multicolored design for players who care more about the look than the condition. On an already budget-tier M4A1-S skin, it's about as affordable as this rifle gets. It's available to buy on Skin.Land with instant delivery and no hidden fees.
FAQ
Is the Battle-Scarred copy still recognizable?
Yes. Despite the heavy scuffing and fading, the multicolored, pixelated pattern is busy enough that the glitch character reads clearly in-game. Battle-Scarred is about accepting visible wear for the lowest price, not losing the design's identity along the way.
Why doesn't the Battle-Scarred copy look completely destroyed?
Because the finish is float-capped at 0.67 instead of the full 1.0, its worst copies never hit the extreme end of the wear scale. That cap, plus a chaotic pattern that masks damage well, means this grade stays more legible than a maxed-out Battle-Scarred on many other skins.
Is Battle-Scarred the smart buy for a budget loadout?
If cost is your only concern, yes. It's the lowest-priced grade of an already affordable finish, so it's a cheap way to add a loud, colorful M4A1-S to a budget loadout. Just accept that it's the most weathered version — the trade-off for that rock-bottom price.
