M4A1-S | Guardian (Field-Tested)
The M4A1-S | Guardian (Field-Tested) is a Classified rifle skin — cobalt blue with the CT logo stenciled on the magazine — here with a touch of honest wear. Field-Tested is the most common and best-value way to own the finish for well under the higher grades.
Design
At its core the finish is a cobalt-blue body marked by the Counter-Terrorist logo stenciled across the magazine — a defensive, badge-like design that skips busy graphics entirely. It began as a community submission from the artist J4CK, and it carries a fitting in-game line: "I don't have to like you, I have to keep you safe - Carmen Cocinero, Extraction Expert."
M4A1-S | Guardian (Field-Tested) Float and Wear
On the finish's 0.00–0.50 float scale, Field-Tested covers the broad middle. The body picks up light scratching along the edges and the handguard, but the blue base still reads well at a glance and the CT stencil stays fully legible regardless of float. This is the grade most players picture — the balance point between looks and price.
M4A1-S | Guardian Rarity
Rarity: Classified — the pink grade, ranked just beneath Covert and second from the top of the standard weapon tiers. Pulling one from a case is genuinely uncommon.
M4A1-S | Guardian Case and Collection
Guardian sits in The Winter Offensive Collection and is unboxed from the Winter Offensive Weapon Case, released together with the Winter Offensive update in December 2013. As a group the Classified tier drops around 3.2% of the time from the case (the rate is shared across the tier's skins), and because that case is out of the active drop pool, supply is fixed — the market, not unboxing, is where most copies come from.
M4A1-S | Guardian Patterns
Because the blue base and stenciled CT logo sit the same way on every Guardian, the finish carries no random pattern variation — nothing like a paint seed or "blue gem" to track down. Copies differ only by wear and float.
StatTrak & Souvenir
You can also find a StatTrak™ Guardian, which tacks on a confirmed-kill counter; it's a scarcer, more expensive drop from the Winter Offensive Weapon Case, and that counter is permanent — it follows the item through every trade or sale. There's no Souvenir variant, since Souvenir weapons come only from Major-tournament packages and this finish has never featured in a Major drop.
M4A1-S | Guardian Price
Field-Tested is the value sweet spot of the range — cheaper than Minimal Wear while keeping nearly the same look, which is a big part of why the finish is such a popular M4A1-S. It stays comfortably in affordable mid-tier territory. It's available to buy on Skin.Land with instant delivery and no hidden fees.
FAQ
Does the Field-Tested Guardian look worn?
Only mildly. Field-Tested adds light scratching on the edges and handguard, but the cobalt base and stenciled CT logo still read clearly, so the skin keeps its identity. Most players find the small amount of wear an easy trade for the lower price this grade brings.
Is Field-Tested the best value Guardian?
For most buyers, yes. It costs noticeably less than Minimal Wear while looking very close to it, and it's the most common grade on the market. Well-Worn and Battle-Scarred are cheaper still if you want the lowest entry price and don't mind heavier scuffing.
Which gloves match the Guardian?
Its cobalt palette suits a cool, blue-toned CT loadout, so blue or blue-gray gloves work best — a blue pair picks up the base finish, while gray or black wraps keep it low-key. It fits naturally into a defender-themed setup built around other blue CT skins.
