M4A1-S | Night Terror (Battle-Scarred)
The M4A1-S | Night Terror (Battle-Scarred) is a Restricted rifle skin with a haunting red-and-black design and insomniac scrawl, in its most heavily worn condition. It's the cheapest way into this atmospheric M4A1-S finish, trading surface quality for the lowest entry price.
Design
The finish keeps its nightmare mood no matter the grade — a black body flooded with red, layered with uneasy hand-written thoughts. Designed by the community artist Madara, it's built around a terror theme captured in the in-game description: "Scattered thoughts from the mind of an insomniac have been scrawled across this custom-painted A1-S." A matching line rides with it: "In the bosom of the gentle night, is when I search for the light."
M4A1-S | Night Terror (Battle-Scarred) Float and Wear
At Battle-Scarred the finish wears its damage openly, with heavy scratching and paint loss spread across the body. Crucially, this skin is float-capped at 0.70 rather than the usual 1.0, so even its roughest copies never reach the extreme end of the wear scale — Battle-Scarred stays milder here than on a full-range skin, and the dense red-and-black artwork keeps the design readable throughout.
M4A1-S | Night Terror Rarity
Rarity: Restricted — the blue tier. It sits in the upper-middle of the standard weapon grades, above the common ranks and beneath the Classified and Covert tiers, and it's a genuinely uncommon grade to pull.
M4A1-S | Night Terror Case and Collection
This skin sits in The Dreams & Nightmares Collection and is unboxed from the Dreams & Nightmares Case, which launched in January 2022. The Restricted tier drops roughly 15.98% of the time from the case (the rate is shared across the tier's skins), and since copies are plentiful on the market, buying beats unboxing for almost everyone after this finish.
M4A1-S | Night Terror Patterns
No random pattern roll exists on this finish — the red washes and scrawled lettering by Madara appear the same on every copy, so there's nothing like a seed or "blue gem" to hunt. Only wear and float distinguish one copy from another.
StatTrak & Souvenir
A StatTrak™ variant is out there too, pulled from the Dreams & Nightmares Case, adding a confirmed-kill counter; it's a rarer, costlier drop than the standard skin, and its counter is permanent, following the item through every trade or sale. There's no Souvenir edition — Souvenir weapons are handed out only through Major-tournament souvenir packages, and this skin has never been part of a Major drop.
M4A1-S | Night Terror Price
Battle-Scarred is the cheapest grade of the skin — the entry-level way to run this nightmare design for players who care more about the look than the condition. On a budget M4A1-S finish to start with, it's about the most affordable striking rifle skin you can put in a loadout. It's available to buy on Skin.Land with instant delivery and no hidden fees.
FAQ
Is the Battle-Scarred Night Terror still recognizable?
Yes. Despite the heavy scuffing, the dense red-and-black artwork and scrawled text keep the design clearly readable at a glance in-game. Battle-Scarred is about accepting visible wear for the lowest price, not losing the skin's haunting identity along the way.
Why doesn't the Battle-Scarred Night Terror look completely trashed?
Because the finish is float-capped at 0.70 instead of the full 1.0, its Battle-Scarred copies stop short of the most extreme wear a normal skin can reach. Paired with an already dark, busy design that absorbs damage, it stays more legible here than many lighter finishes do at the same grade.
Which gloves match the Night Terror?
Its red-and-black palette suits a dark, aggressive loadout, so red or black gloves are the natural pairing — a red pair pulls out the crimson washes, while black wraps keep the shadowy tone. Add other red-and-black gear for a fully cohesive nightmare-themed set.
