M4A1-S | Vaporwave (Battle-Scarred)
The M4A1-S | Vaporwave (Battle-Scarred) is a Covert rifle skin in purple and pink, built on a Greco-Roman statue and distorted retro imagery, in its most heavily worn condition. It's the cheapest way into this premium finish, trading surface condition for the lowest entry price.
Design
Vaporwave keeps a fully retro-futuristic identity: designed by the community artist Blazer, it wraps the rifle in purple and pink hues and has been custom painted with a Greco-Roman statue plus other distorted imagery from a bygone era. It comes with the fitting line "From a hypnagogic dream."
M4A1-S | Vaporwave (Battle-Scarred) Float and Wear
At Battle-Scarred the finish wears its damage openly — heavy scratching and paint loss spread across the body, thinning the gradient in places. Crucially, this skin is float-capped at about 0.60 rather than the full 1.0, so its Battle-Scarred copies never reach the extreme end of the wear scale, and the statue plus the color keep the design readable even at its roughest. That makes the worst grade here milder than on a full-range skin.
M4A1-S | Vaporwave Rarity
Rarity: Covert — the red tier, at the very top of the standard weapon grades. It's a genuinely uncommon classification, the rarest you can pull short of a knife or gloves.
M4A1-S | Vaporwave Case and Collection
The finish is part of The Gallery Collection and drops from the Gallery Case, which released with the Armory update in October 2024. The Covert tier unboxes about 0.64% of the time from the case (the rate is shared across the tier's skins), keeping copies scarce — the market, not unboxing, is where most of them come from.
M4A1-S | Vaporwave Patterns
The statue, the gradient, and the distorted imagery are fixed on every copy, so Vaporwave has no random pattern variation — there's no paint seed or "blue gem" to chase. The only differences from copy to copy are wear and float.
StatTrak & Souvenir
A StatTrak™ Vaporwave exists too, unboxed from the Gallery Case with a confirmed-kill counter attached; it's rarer and pricier than the standard drop, and the counter is permanent, following the item through any trade or sale. There's no Souvenir variant — Souvenir weapons only come from Major-tournament packages, and the Gallery Case has never featured as a Major drop.
M4A1-S | Vaporwave Price
Battle-Scarred is the cheapest grade of the skin — the entry-level way to run this Covert M4A1-S for players who care more about the artwork than the condition. If you want the purple-and-pink Vaporwave look for as little as possible, this is the way in. It's available to buy on Skin.Land with instant delivery and no hidden fees.
FAQ
Is the Battle-Scarred Vaporwave still recognizable?
Yes. Despite the heavy scuffing, the bold purple-and-pink gradient and the Greco-Roman statue keep the design readable at a glance in-game. Battle-Scarred is about accepting visible wear in exchange for the lowest price, not losing the artwork entirely.
Why doesn't the Battle-Scarred Vaporwave look completely trashed?
Because the finish is float-capped at roughly 0.60 instead of the full 1.0, its Battle-Scarred copies stop short of the most extreme wear. Paired with a dense, busy artwork that disguises damage, Vaporwave stays more legible here than many lighter or simpler skins do at the same grade.
Which gloves work with Vaporwave?
Match the palette — purple or pink gloves tie into the gradient, and magenta or violet wraps push the retro-futuristic mood. If the loadout already leans loud, neutral white gloves calm it down and let the rifle's artwork lead.
