M4A4 | Converter (Field-Tested)
The M4A4 | Converter (Field-Tested) is a Mil-Spec rifle skin with a red and black mesh hydrographic, here carrying a touch of honest use. Field-Tested is the most common way to own the finish and the easiest on the wallet among its cleaner grades.
Design
At its core this is a red and black mesh hydrographic laid over the M4A4 — an industrial, gridded surface that skips illustrated graphics in favor of raw texture. The design comes from Valve in-house, and it's paired with a dry in-game quip: "Not so harmful after all..."
M4A4 | Converter (Field-Tested) Float and Wear
Field-Tested is the third of the four grades, below Minimal Wear and above Well-Worn. At this level the finish picks up light scratching along the edges and high points, though the busy mesh masks it fairly well and the red keeps its punch. This is the grade most players land on when they just want the design in the loadout for less.
M4A4 | Converter Rarity
Rarity: Mil-Spec Grade — that's the blue tier, the first step on the standard weapon-skin ladder. As the tier that drops most often, it's a common grade rather than a rare one, keeping the Converter easy to pick up.
M4A4 | Converter Case and Collection
The Converter comes from The 2018 Inferno Collection, released in the FACEIT 2018 update of September 2018 when Inferno was reworked. Mil-Spec is the base grade and the most frequent outcome, at roughly 79.92% of drops shared among the tier's skins. No weapon case sits behind the collection, so the finish is obtained through Inferno Souvenir Packages or bought on the market.
M4A4 | Converter Patterns
Because the red and black mesh sits the same way on every Converter, the finish has no random pattern variation — nothing like a paint seed or blue gem to track down. What sets copies apart is simply their wear and float.
StatTrak & Souvenir
You won't find a StatTrak Converter: that variant is minted only in weapon cases, and this skin belongs to a Major map collection with no case behind it. A Souvenir version, however, is real — Souvenir weapons come from Major-tournament souvenir packages, and the Converter has featured in the Inferno Souvenir Package since London 2018.
M4A4 | Converter Price
Field-Tested sits toward the lower end of the ladder, under the two cleaner grades — a budget route into the design for players who don't mind a little wear. Within an already cheap M4A4 finish, it's about as low as the entry price goes short of Well-Worn. It's available to buy on Skin.Land with instant delivery and no hidden fees.
FAQ
Does the Field-Tested Converter look worn?
A little, but the design hides it. Expect light scratching on the edges and raised parts, yet the dense red-and-black mesh camouflages surface marks better than a flat paint would. At a normal viewing distance it still reads as a solid, colorful M4A4 rather than a beaten-up one.
Is Field-Tested worth buying over Minimal Wear?
If price is the priority, yes. Field-Tested costs less and the busy texture disguises its extra wear, so the gap in looks is smaller than the gap in price. Minimal Wear is the pick if you want the mesh a bit sharper; Well-Worn is the choice if you want to spend even less.
Which gloves suit the Field-Tested Converter?
Stick to the skin's own scheme — red or black gloves land best, with a red pair echoing the mesh and dark wraps holding the industrial feel. The scheme is forgiving at this grade, since the wear is subtle enough that a color-matched glove still pulls the loadout together cleanly.
