M4A4 | Royal Paladin (Field-Tested)
The M4A4 | Royal Paladin (Field-Tested) is a Covert rifle skin with an ornate gold-and-white heraldic knight design over a brown base, here in a lightly worn state. Field-Tested is the popular middle-ground way to own the finish — a touch of honest wear for well under the higher grades.
Design
At its heart the finish is a medieval-heraldry piece: a warm brown body etched and painted with detailed gold-and-white knight motifs, arranged to convey grandeur and a chivalrous, regal air. It began as a Workshop submission from the community artist Teo, and it comes with a cryptic in-game line: "This phonecall never happened, do you understand?"
M4A4 | Royal Paladin (Field-Tested) Float and Wear
At Field-Tested the finish picks up light scratching along the edges and raised surfaces, but the warm brown base absorbs a lot of it, so most copies still present well from playing distance. The gold heraldic detail remains the anchor of the look and stays readable throughout. This is the grade most players settle on — the balance point between a solid appearance and a friendlier price.
M4A4 | Royal Paladin Rarity
Rarity: Covert — the red grade, ranked at the top of the standard weapon tiers above Classified. It's the scarcest category of skin you can pull from a case.
M4A4 | Royal Paladin Case and Collection
Part of The Revolver Case Collection, the Royal Paladin drops from the Revolver Case that launched with CS:GO's Winter Update back in December 2015. The Covert tier as a group unboxes around 0.64% of the time (an odds figure shared across the tier), and because the Revolver Case is no longer in the active drop pool, supply stays fixed — the market, not unboxing, is where most copies come from now.
M4A4 | Royal Paladin Patterns
Because the heraldic knight artwork is placed the same on every copy, this finish has no random pattern variation — there's nothing like a paint seed or "blue gem" to chase. Copies differ from one another only by their wear and float values.
StatTrak & Souvenir
You can also find a StatTrak™ Royal Paladin, which tacks on a confirmed-kill counter; it's a rarer and more expensive drop than the plain skin, and the counter is permanent, following the item through every trade or sale. There's no Souvenir edition — Souvenir weapons only come from Major-tournament packages, and the Revolver Case has never featured as a Major drop.
M4A4 | Royal Paladin Price
Field-Tested is the value sweet spot of the range — cheaper than Minimal Wear while keeping the design clearly presentable, which is a big part of why it's such a common pick. It's still a premium M4A4 finish, just at a more approachable entry point. It's available to buy on Skin.Land with instant delivery and no hidden fees.
FAQ
Does the Field-Tested Royal Paladin look worn?
Only mildly. Light scratches show on the edges and high-contact areas up close, but the warm brown base soaks up a lot of that damage, so the skin reads well at a normal distance. The gold heraldic detailing is unaffected enough to stay legible, keeping the finish's regal character front and center.
Is Field-Tested the best value grade?
For most buyers, yes. It costs noticeably less than Minimal Wear and Factory New while still looking presentable thanks to the forgiving brown base, and it's the more common grade on the market. Well-Worn and Battle-Scarred come cheaper if you want the lowest entry price and don't mind heavier scuffing on the artwork.
What loadout suits the Royal Paladin?
Its brown, gold, and white heraldic palette leans warm and ornate, so it pairs well with tan or gold-accented gloves and other medieval- or classically themed pieces. Building a warm, regal loadout around it plays up the paladin theme far better than cool blues or neon-heavy skins would.
