MP7 | Fade (Field-Tested)

MP7 | Fade (Field-Tested)

The MP7 | Fade (Field-Tested) is a Restricted SMG skin featuring airbrushed color fading over a chrome base. Field-Tested is the most worn grade this finish reaches, making it the most affordable way to own the look.

Design

The look comes from transparent paints airbrushed on and left to blend across a bare chrome coat, letting the metal underneath influence how the colors read rather than sitting on a flat graphic. It's a Valve-made finish, complete with an in-game line that suits it: "This isn't just a weapon, it's a conversation piece."

MP7 | Fade (Field-Tested) Float and Wear

Since the finish never rolls past a 0.25 float, Field-Tested marks the ceiling — there's no Well-Worn or Battle-Scarred version to buy. Even at this grade the fade stays legible and the chrome base keeps the surface from looking dull, just with a touch less brightness than the cleaner grades.

MP7 | Fade Rarity

Rarity: Restricted, the purple tier that sits one step below Classified among standard weapon grades — a solid, above-average pull.

MP7 | Fade Case and Collection

This finish is part of The 2018 Inferno Collection, released with the FACEIT 2018 update in September 2018. No case backs it directly; it moves through the market via Inferno Collection trade-ups and collection drops.

MP7 | Fade Percentage

As a fade finish, the exact spread of color over the chrome depends on the paint seed rolled for that copy, so coverage can differ between two Field-Tested pieces. There's no confirmed top seed or percentage figure worth chasing, so treat generic claims skeptically and check the actual inspect link before buying.

StatTrak & Souvenir

A regular and a Souvenir version both exist for this finish, though StatTrak was never made for it. Souvenir copies first appeared in the London 2018 Inferno Souvenir Package, with more turning up in later Major souvenir packages tied to Inferno — always a tournament drop, never a weapon case.

MP7 | Fade Price

Field-Tested is the cheapest way onto the Fade's price ladder, sitting below both Minimal Wear and Factory New. It's the entry point into a finish that otherwise runs grail-tier for the MP7. It's available to buy on Skin.Land with instant delivery and no hidden fees.

FAQ

Is Field-Tested the worst-looking MP7 | Fade?

It's the roughest available, but not dramatically so — since the float ceiling sits at 0.25, this finish never reaches the heavy scuffing a full-range skin can show at Field-Tested. The fade still reads clearly; you're mainly trading a slight edge in brightness for a lower price.

Why doesn't the Fade go all the way to Battle-Scarred?

Its float is capped at 0.25, far under the 1.0 maximum the game allows, so grades past Field-Tested simply never get generated. That cap is also why even the roughest copies still look fairly presentable.

Is Field-Tested a good budget pick for the Fade?

Yes, it's the most accessible grade of a finish that otherwise sits near the top of the MP7 lineup on price. You give up a small amount of visual polish compared to Minimal Wear or Factory New, but the fade pattern itself is still clearly on display.
