MP9 | Broken Record (Factory New)
The MP9 | Broken Record (Factory New) is a Mil-Spec SMG finish painted to look like a spinning vinyl record, grooves and all. Factory New is the top grade of the range, showing the artwork at its crispest before any wear sets in.
Design
The whole body is custom-painted to resemble a vinyl record, with concentric grooves wrapping the receiver and magazine for a genuinely different look on the MP9's small frame. It's a community design by the CS2 Workshop artist Des, and it carries a fitting flavor line: "Instant classic."
MP9 | Broken Record (Factory New) Float and Wear
Float runs the full 0.00–1.00 range on this finish, and Factory New sits right at the bottom of it. At this grade the record grooves stay sharp and evenly spaced with no scuffing to interrupt the pattern, so the design reads exactly as painted.
MP9 | Broken Record Rarity
Rarity: Mil-Spec Grade, the entry tier for weapon finishes — common to come across, but still a real paint job rather than a default skin.
MP9 | Broken Record Case and Collection
This finish belongs to The Genesis Collection and comes out of the Sealed Genesis Terminal, which arrived with the Show Off update in September 2025. Mil-Spec finishes from that container drop at roughly 79.92%, so getting one is far from a long shot.
MP9 | Broken Record Patterns
The record-groove artwork is fixed — every copy carries the exact same grooves in the exact same spot, so there's no paint seed or "blue gem" pattern worth chasing here. Wear and float are the only variables that change how a copy looks.
StatTrak & Souvenir
This finish exists as a regular finish only — there's no StatTrak version to track kills with. There's also no Souvenir copy, since Souvenir weapons only ever come from Major-tournament packages, and this finish has never been offered in one.
MP9 | Broken Record Price
Factory New is the priciest grade on the Broken Record's ladder, though the finish stays a budget pick overall, so the jump to top condition costs very little in absolute terms. It's available to buy on Skin.Land with instant delivery and no hidden fees.
FAQ
Is Factory New worth it on the Broken Record?
Given how cheap this finish is across the board, yes — the price gap between Factory New and lower grades is small, so there's little reason to settle for visible scuffing when a clean copy costs barely more. It's an easy upgrade for a budget skin.
How rare is the MP9 | Broken Record?
It's a Mil-Spec finish, the most common weapon rarity, and it drops at roughly 79.92% from the Sealed Genesis Terminal. That makes it easy to pick up either by opening the terminal or simply buying one outright.
Does the record pattern vary between copies?
No. The grooves are painted the same way on every MP9 | Broken Record, so there's no seed number or rare layout to hunt for. Picking a copy just comes down to picking a wear grade and a price you like.
