MP9 | Hot Rod (Factory New)

MP9 | Hot Rod (Factory New)

The MP9 | Hot Rod (Factory New) is a Mil-Spec SMG skin finished in a candied red anodized coat over chrome. Because the float never climbs past 0.08, Factory New captures this glossy red finish at its absolute cleanest.

Design

Hot Rod starts with a chrome base coat, then candies it in a transparent red anodized paint for a glossy, automotive-style shine. It's a Valve-made finish that fits its flavor line, "Automatic. Systematic. Hydromatic."

MP9 | Hot Rod (Factory New) Float and Wear

Hot Rod is float-capped extremely low, between 0.00 and 0.08, so only Factory New and Minimal Wear exist — there's no Field-Tested, Well-Worn, or Battle-Scarred for this finish at all. Factory New sits at the very bottom of that tight range, showing the glossy red coat with essentially no visible wear.

MP9 | Hot Rod Rarity

Rarity here is Mil-Spec Grade, the blue tier — one of the more common standard grades, sitting below Restricted, Classified, and Covert.

MP9 | Hot Rod Case and Collection

Hot Rod is part of The Mirage Collection, which arrived with the "Out with the old, in with the new" update in November 2013. It isn't tied to a weapon case — the regular finish comes from the collection itself.

MP9 | Hot Rod Patterns

The red-over-chrome finish is fixed on every copy — there's no seed to roll and no "blue gem" version to hunt for. Only float separates one Factory New copy from another.

StatTrak & Souvenir

There's no StatTrak version of the MP9 | Hot Rod. It does exist as a Souvenir finish, first handed out in the DreamHack 2013 Souvenir Package, with later Major souvenir packages for Mirage adding more copies over the years.

MP9 | Hot Rod Price

Despite its common Mil-Spec rarity, Hot Rod's Souvenir history pushes it into high-end, grail-tier territory, and Factory New sits at the top of that range. It's available to buy on Skin.Land with instant delivery and no hidden fees.

FAQ

Why is the MP9 | Hot Rod so expensive for a Mil-Spec skin?

Its price comes from Souvenir demand rather than base rarity — Souvenir copies have been handed out at Majors since the DreamHack 2013 Souvenir Package, and that history pushes the finish into high-end, grail-tier pricing despite its common Mil-Spec grade.

Why doesn't the Hot Rod have Field-Tested or Battle-Scarred versions?

Its float is capped extremely low, between 0.00 and 0.08, so the game can never roll a copy worn enough to qualify for those grades. Only Factory New and Minimal Wear exist for this finish.

Is there a StatTrak MP9 | Hot Rod?

No, this finish was never given a StatTrak version. It exists as a regular finish and as a Souvenir edition, but kill-tracking was never added to it.
