P2000 | Amber Fade (Factory New)

P2000 | Amber Fade (Factory New)

The P2000 | Amber Fade (Factory New) is a Restricted pistol finish built around a chrome base coat airbrushed with transparent paint that fades from amber-orange into green. Factory New is the top grade for it, showing that fade at its most saturated and least disturbed by handling marks.

Design

Valve built this one as a straightforward fade job: transparent orange-to-green paint airbrushed over a bright chrome undercoat, with no extra graphics or decals layered on top. It's a fitting match for the in-game line attached to it: "This isn't just a weapon, it's a conversation piece."

P2000 | Amber Fade (Factory New) Float and Wear

Float on this finish runs from 0 up to 0.4, and Factory New sits right at the bottom of that range. At this grade the chrome shows through crisp and bright under the fade, with essentially no scuffing to interrupt the gradient — the closest you'll get to how the finish was designed to look.

P2000 | Amber Fade Rarity

Rarity: Restricted — the purple tier, sitting above Mil-Spec and below Classified among the standard weapon grades. It's a solid step up from the most common drops without reaching the rarer classified-and-up brackets.

P2000 | Amber Fade Case and Collection

There's no weapon case tied to this finish — it belongs to The Dust 2 Collection, which arrived with the Out with the old, in with the new update on November 27, 2013. As a Restricted-tier piece it shows up at roughly a 16% clip within its tier's odds bracket, whether pulled from the collection pool or from a Dust II souvenir package.

P2000 | Amber Fade Patterns

Amber Fade doesn't have a single fixed look — the exact split between amber-orange and green is set by the paint seed and runs on the standard 80-100% fade scale, with more orange and less green as the percentage climbs. A full 100% fade copy is the most sought-after roll and carries a real price premium, and since it's locked in by the seed, wear and float never change it.

StatTrak & Souvenir

This finish exists as a regular version and a Souvenir version, but there's no StatTrak variant to chase. Souvenir copies didn't come from a single event — the first was the DreamHack 2013 Souvenir Package, followed by more Dust II packages at later Major tournaments over the years, since Souvenir weapons are only ever handed out through Major souvenir drops.

P2000 | Amber Fade Price

Factory New tops the Amber Fade's price ladder as the highest available grade, priced as an affordable mid-tier pistol skin rather than anything approaching grail money. It's available to buy on Skin.Land with instant delivery and no hidden fees.

FAQ

Which is the best P2000 | Amber Fade pattern?

Look for the highest fade percentage you can find. The finish runs on an 80-100% amber-to-green scale set by the paint seed, and a full 100% fade — maximum amber-orange, minimum green — is the most prized roll and typically sells for a clear premium over lower-percentage copies of the same wear.

What's the difference between the regular and Souvenir Amber Fade?

They look identical — the Souvenir tag is purely a source marker. Regular copies come from The Dust 2 Collection's own drop pool, while Souvenir copies were only ever handed out in Major-tournament souvenir packages starting with the DreamHack 2013 Souvenir Package. Neither version has a StatTrak counterpart.

Is Factory New worth the extra cost over Minimal Wear?

If you want the fade at its most vivid with zero handling marks, yes. But float on this finish is capped at 0.4, so even Minimal Wear stays close behind visually. Budget-conscious buyers can save without losing much of the look.
