The SG 553 | Ultraviolet (Battle-Scarred) is the roughest-looking copy of this black-and-purple Mil-Spec Grade rifle finish. It's also the most affordable way to add it to your loadout.
Design
Ultraviolet keeps its look bold and simple: solid black and purple tones spray-painted across the SG 553's individual parts, without any printed graphic. It's a Valve-made finish carrying the line: "Elegant design paired with brutal intent."

Ultraviolet's float runs from 0.06 up to 0.80, so Battle-Scarred here stops short of the full 1.00 extreme other skins can reach. Expect heavy scuffing and noticeable paint loss across the body, but the cap means it never hits the most trashed look the game allows.

Is Battle-Scarred Ultraviolet still usable-looking?
Yes. Despite heavy scuffing and paint loss, the black-and-purple tones stay visible across the body, keeping the bold color scheme recognizable. It's a trade-off of surface condition for a lower entry price.
Why doesn't Battle-Scarred Ultraviolet hit the maximum wear level?
Because the finish is float-capped at 0.80 instead of the full 1.00 scale, its worst copies stay a little milder than an uncapped skin at the same grade. Combined with the dark palette hiding some damage, it stays fairly legible even here.
Is Battle-Scarred a smart way to buy into Ultraviolet?
