The SG 553 | Waves Perforated (Field-Tested) is a Consumer Grade rifle skin with a gray finish made from ripped tape strips and perforated metal stencils. Field-Tested is the most common grade players run, balancing visible wear with a lower price than the top two grades.
Design
The stencil-based design comes from spraying paint through ripped tape and perforated metal, leaving an irregular, cut-out pattern across a gray body rather than a smooth graphic. This is a Valve-made piece from The Lake Collection, with no flavor text attached.
SG 553 | Waves Perforated (Field-Tested) Float and Wear
Field-Tested falls in the middle of the finish's 0.06–0.80 float range. Some added scuffing shows along the edges and receiver at this grade, but the tape-and-stencil pattern remains legible, since the design already reads as somewhat rough by nature.

Rarity: Consumer Grade, the white tier and the lowest rarity assigned to a weapon skin. It's an extremely common grade to come across, though the perforated stencil work sets it apart visually from plainer Consumer Grade finishes.

Does Field-Tested wear show much on this finish?
Some added scuffing appears along the edges and receiver, but the design's own rough, torn-stencil texture already masks a fair amount of it. Most players would still describe a Field-Tested copy as presentable rather than heavily damaged.
Is there a cheaper way to get the same look?
Well-Worn and Battle-Scarred cost less and keep the same stencil pattern, just with more visible surface wear layered on top. Field-Tested is the middle option for buyers who want a lower price without going all the way to the roughest grades.
Why does the SG 553 | Waves Perforated have a Souvenir version but no case?
It's a Lake Collection finish rather than a case-drop skin, and Souvenir editions of collection finishes are distributed through Major-tournament souvenir packages instead of weapon cases. The DreamHack 2013 Souvenir Package was the first to carry it.
