Tec-9 | Cracked Opal (Minimal Wear)

Tec-9 | Cracked Opal (Minimal Wear)

The Tec-9 | Cracked Opal (Minimal Wear) shows a hand-painted, cracked-wood surface with an opal glow peeking through the fissures. One step below the top grade, it keeps most of that shimmer for a smaller price.

Design

Per Valve's own wording, the finish is hand painted to resemble cracked, ancient wood with an underlying opal, blending a weathered texture with a colorful glow beneath. Community artist bee designed it, and it carries the flavor line "Doubles as a mood ring."

Tec-9 | Cracked Opal (Minimal Wear) Float and Wear

The finish spans the full 0.00–1.00 float range, and Minimal Wear sits just above the cleanest end of it. The wood texture stays tight and the opal glow shows through clearly, with only a slight softening compared to a Factory New copy.

Tec-9 | Cracked Opal Rarity

This is a Mil-Spec Grade finish, the blue and most common tier among the standard weapon rarities — though the opal design has carved out its own following regardless of that common classification.

Tec-9 | Cracked Opal Case and Collection

Cracked Opal belongs to The Spectrum 2 Collection, tied to the Spectrum 2 Case released in September 2017. Mil-Spec tier finishes from that case land at around 79.92% odds as a group, making this one of the easier finishes to unbox from it.

Tec-9 | Cracked Opal Patterns

Every copy shares the same cracked-wood layout and opal placement, since the paint seed has no bearing on the design — there's no rare pattern or blue-gem seed to hunt here. Wear grade is the real differentiator between copies.

StatTrak & Souvenir

A StatTrak™ copy is available from the same Spectrum 2 Case, tracking confirmed kills permanently across trades and sales. No Souvenir version exists, since Souvenir items require a Major-tournament package and the Spectrum 2 Collection has never had one.

Tec-9 | Cracked Opal Price

Minimal Wear sits just under Factory New in price while looking almost the same, making it a smart value pick. The finish overall stays firmly in budget territory for the Tec-9 line. It's available to buy on Skin.Land with instant delivery and no hidden fees.

FAQ

Is Minimal Wear a solid alternative to Factory New?

Yes, for most buyers — the wood texture and opal glow both still look sharp at this grade, so the visual gap versus Factory New is minor while the price is a bit lower.

Does the opal color change between copies?

No, the opal glow and cracked-wood pattern sit in a fixed spot on every copy, since paint seed doesn't affect this finish's design. Wear grade, not seed, is what changes the look from one copy to the next.

Which gloves pair well with the Tec-9 | Cracked Opal?

The cyan-and-brown opal tones work nicely with driver or hand-wrap gloves in earthy or teal shades, picking up either the wood or the opal side of the palette. Both directions keep the loadout visually tied to this finish.
