Tec-9 | Red Quartz (Minimal Wear)

Tec-9 | Red Quartz (Minimal Wear)

The Tec-9 | Red Quartz (Minimal Wear) is a Restricted pistol skin with a bold orange, crystal-faceted finish. Minimal Wear keeps that design close to its original brightness while trimming the price below Factory New.

Design

The look comes from metallic paint layered with a crystallizing mask, breaking the orange surface into faceted shapes rather than a flat color block. Valve is credited with the finish, which carries the in-game line "Everyone wants to make an impact."

Tec-9 | Red Quartz (Minimal Wear) Float and Wear

Within the finish's 0.00–0.40 float range, Minimal Wear sits just above Factory New. Expect the crystallizing pattern to stay largely crisp with only the faintest hint of softening at the edges, so the orange finish still reads vividly at a glance.

Tec-9 | Red Quartz Rarity

This is a Restricted-grade skin, the purple tier sitting above the Mil-Spec ranks and below Classified — an uncommon-to-solid pull rather than a common drop.

Tec-9 | Red Quartz Case and Collection

Red Quartz comes out of The Train Collection, which launched back in November 2013 with the "Out with the old, in with the new" update. The case's Restricted tier pulls at around sixteen percent, and since that case is no longer active, buyers mostly source copies from the market instead of opening cases themselves.

Tec-9 | Red Quartz Patterns

There's no random pattern roll on this finish — every copy carries the same crystallizing mask over the orange base, so hunting for a rare seed or blue-gem variant isn't a thing here. Only the wear grade and float value differ between copies.

StatTrak & Souvenir

No StatTrak version was ever made for this finish, though it does come in both a regular and a Souvenir edition. The Souvenir copies trace back to the DreamHack 2013 Souvenir Package, with additional Major packages following at different tournaments in the years after.

Tec-9 | Red Quartz Price

Minimal Wear lands just below Factory New on the price ladder, offering nearly the same sharp look for less. It stays within the premium tier for the Tec-9 line overall. It's available to buy on Skin.Land with instant delivery and no hidden fees.

FAQ

How different does Minimal Wear look from Factory New?

Very little. Both grades sit near the bottom of the finish's float range, so the crystallizing mask and orange paint look nearly identical between them. Minimal Wear is the practical choice if you want that top-tier look without paying the full Factory New premium.

Which gloves pair well with Red Quartz?

Its bright orange, warm-toned finish leans into a fiery loadout, so orange or red-accented gloves complement it best, while a neutral black pair keeps the focus on the pistol itself. Either route keeps the overall look cohesive rather than clashing.

Why does this finish have a Souvenir version but no StatTrak?

Valve simply never produced a StatTrak drop for Red Quartz, while its Souvenir version comes from an entirely separate system — Major-tournament souvenir packages, first handed out at DreamHack 2013 and repeated at several Majors since. The two tracks aren't linked.
