Tec-9 | Sandstorm (Minimal Wear)

Tec-9 | Sandstorm (Minimal Wear)

The Tec-9 | Sandstorm (Minimal Wear) is a Mil-Spec pistol skin built around a purple-and-beige hydrographic graphic. Since this finish never rolls in Factory New, Minimal Wear is the top grade you can actually buy it in.

Design

Algis, the community artist behind the finish, laid a hydrographic print over the Tec-9 in a purple and beige combo that leans more desert-tarp than tactical. The in-game line "It'll take more than a tarp to protect you" fits the improvised, patched-together look.

Tec-9 | Sandstorm (Minimal Wear) Float and Wear

The Sandstorm's float range runs 0.10 to 0.70, so Minimal Wear is as good as it gets — there's no Factory New copy out there. At this grade the purple tones stay strong and the beige patches show minimal scuffing, giving the tightest-looking version of the print available.

Tec-9 | Sandstorm Rarity

Rarity: Mil-Spec Grade, the blue tier and the most common rarity a weapon case pays out. It's an easy pull compared to the higher grades above it.

Tec-9 | Sandstorm Case and Collection

This finish sits in The Phoenix Collection and comes out of the Operation Phoenix Weapon Case, which launched with Operation Phoenix back in February 2014. Mil-Spec skins from that case pay out around 79.92% of opens combined, and with the case retired from the active drop pool, most Sandstorm copies now change hands on the market rather than getting unboxed.

Tec-9 | Sandstorm Patterns

There's no paint-seed variation here — the purple-and-beige graphic sits identically on every copy, so there's no pattern or "blue gem" seed worth hunting. Wear and float are the only things that tell two copies apart.

StatTrak & Souvenir

This finish exists as a regular finish and a StatTrak version, the latter tracking confirmed kills permanently once it's earned. There's no Souvenir version — Souvenir weapons come only from Major-tournament packages, and this finish was never offered in one.

Tec-9 | Sandstorm Price

Minimal Wear is the priciest grade of the Sandstorm simply because it's the best available — Field-Tested and the lower grades all sit below it. It's still an affordable mid-tier pistol skin overall, nowhere near grail money. It's available to buy on Skin.Land with instant delivery and no hidden fees.

FAQ

Why isn't there a Factory New Sandstorm?

The finish is float-capped at 0.10, and the game never generates a copy below that number. Factory New requires a float under 0.07, which this skin simply can't reach, so Minimal Wear is the highest grade that exists for it.

Does StatTrak change the Sandstorm's look?

No — StatTrak only adds a kill counter on the weapon's inspect screen, it doesn't alter the purple-and-beige artwork itself. It's rarer and costs more than the standard version, but visually the two are identical.

Is the Minimal Wear Sandstorm worth the extra cost over Field-Tested?

If you want the best-looking copy possible, yes — it's the top grade available. But since there's no Factory New to chase, some buyers save money by going Field-Tested instead, since the wear-hiding beige patches keep that grade looking decent too.
