Tec-9 | Snek-9 (Field-Tested)
The Tec-9 | Snek-9 (Field-Tested) shows off its coral-snake-inspired red and yellow bands at the most commonly seen wear level. It's a middle-of-the-road pick between top condition and lowest price.
Design
The Snek-9's design comes from community artist PTP, who used coral snake markings as the basis for the bold red and yellow bands across the Tec-9. The in-game flavor text "If red meets yellow, you're a dead fellow" plays directly off that reptile-warning inspiration.
Tec-9 | Snek-9 (Field-Tested) Float and Wear
With the Snek-9's float running the full 0.00 to 1.00 range, Field-Tested sits comfortably in the middle. Some scuffing appears across the grip and slide at this grade, but the red and yellow bands remain easy to spot and identify at a glance.
Tec-9 | Snek-9 Rarity
This finish carries Mil-Spec Grade rarity, the blue and most common tier produced by weapon cases. It's an easy pull compared to the scarcer grades in the same case.
Tec-9 | Snek-9 Case and Collection
Part of The Horizon Collection, the Snek-9 drops from the Horizon Case that released with A New Horizon in August 2018. Mil-Spec skins make up about 79.92% of that case's pulls as a group, and since the case is no longer active, buyers mostly source this skin from the market today.
Tec-9 | Snek-9 Patterns
There's no pattern-seed variation on the Snek-9 — the coral-snake bands sit in the same spot on every copy, so no "blue gem" version exists to chase. Wear and float alone separate one Snek-9 from another.
StatTrak & Souvenir
Alongside the standard version, this finish also exists as a StatTrak edition that permanently logs confirmed kills once it starts tracking them. Souvenir copies were never produced, since that variant only comes from Major-tournament packages, and this finish has never appeared in one.
Tec-9 | Snek-9 Price
Field-Tested sits below both Factory New and Minimal Wear on the price ladder, making it a solid mid-range pick within an already affordable mid-tier finish. It's available to buy on Skin.Land with instant delivery and no hidden fees.
FAQ
Does Field-Tested wear hide the Snek-9's pattern?
Not really — the red and yellow coral-snake bands stay clearly visible even with the light scuffing that shows up at this grade, so the design reads clearly whether you're up close or across the map.
Is Field-Tested a good value pick for the Snek-9?
Yes, for buyers who want a balance of looks and price. It costs less than the top two grades while still showing off the full pattern, though Well-Worn and Battle-Scarred go even cheaper if that's the priority.
Which case can I open to try for a Snek-9?
The Horizon Case, released alongside the A New Horizon update in August 2018, is where this finish originates. It's no longer active, so buying directly off the market is now the more common route.
