UMP-45 | Grand Prix (Field-Tested)
The UMP-45 | Grand Prix (Field-Tested) is a Restricted submachine gun finish with a custom-painted, old-fashioned racing motif. Field-Tested is the only condition this finish has ever shipped in, and this guide covers why, plus what to expect from its rarity, drop source, and price.
Design
The Grand Prix leans into a vintage racing look with a custom-painted motif rather than a solid color or camo pattern, giving the gun a lively, motorsport-flavored theme. It's a community design by kf.hammond, and it comes with the playful in-game line "Don't forget your helmet."
UMP-45 | Grand Prix (Field-Tested) Float and Wear
This finish has an unusually narrow float range, running only from 0.25 to 0.35 — a band that sits entirely inside Field-Tested territory. That's why no Factory New, Minimal Wear, Well-Worn, or Battle-Scarred copies exist at all: the float never gets clean enough or worn enough to cross into any other grade. Every Grand Prix in the game is Field-Tested, with light, even wear across the racing artwork.
UMP-45 | Grand Prix Rarity
Rarity: Restricted — the purple tier, ranked above Mil-Spec and just below Classified on the standard weapon ladder. It's a moderately uncommon grade to pull from a case.
UMP-45 | Grand Prix Case and Collection
The Grand Prix is part of The Chroma 2 Collection and drops from the Chroma 2 Case, which launched with an update in April 2015. Restricted-tier skins from that case land around 15.98% of the time as a group, a rate shared across the whole tier rather than assigned individually to this finish.
UMP-45 | Grand Prix Patterns
The racing motif is a fixed design — there's no paint seed that changes the artwork's placement, so every copy looks the same aside from the small float differences within its narrow band. There's no "blue gem" or rare pattern to hunt for here.
StatTrak & Souvenir
A StatTrak™ version of the Grand Prix exists and tracks confirmed kills with a counter that stays with the weapon permanently through trades and sales; it typically costs more than the standard copy. There's no Souvenir edition, since Souvenir weapons only come from Major-tournament packages and this finish has never appeared in one.
UMP-45 | Grand Prix Price
With only one available condition, there's no price ladder to climb here — every Field-Tested copy sits at roughly the same budget-friendly level, making the Grand Prix one of the more affordable ways to add a racing-themed skin to a loadout. It's available on Skin.Land with instant delivery and no hidden fees.
FAQ
Why is there only a Field-Tested Grand Prix?
Its float range runs from 0.25 to 0.35, a band that falls squarely inside Field-Tested and never dips low enough for Minimal Wear or Factory New, nor climbs high enough for Well-Worn or Battle-Scarred. Every copy the game generates lands in this one condition by design.
Is the Grand Prix a good budget pick?
Yes. It sits at the affordable end of the UMP-45 lineup, and since only one wear exists, buyers aren't paying extra for a top grade that isn't available anyway. It's a low-cost way to get a distinctive racing-themed look on the gun.
Can I buy a StatTrak Grand Prix?
Yes, a StatTrak™ version exists alongside the regular Field-Tested copy and adds a permanent kill counter. There is no Souvenir version at any point, since this finish has never been part of a Major-tournament souvenir package.
