XM1014 | Monster Melt (Field-Tested)

XM1014 | Monster Melt (Field-Tested)

The XM1014 | Monster Melt (Field-Tested) is a Restricted shotgun finish with monsters painted across a pink base on both sides, now carrying light honest wear. Field-Tested is the most common and affordable way to run this quirky design.

Design

Monster Melt splashes cartoon monsters over a pink backdrop on both faces of the shotgun — a playful, offbeat motif that stands well apart from standard weapon camos. The finish is Valve's own, and it comes with the cheeky in-game line "Best to not check the other side," a nod to its double-sided artwork.

XM1014 | Monster Melt (Field-Tested) Float and Wear

On the finish's 0.00–0.75 scale, Field-Tested spans roughly 0.15–0.38. Here the pink base softens a touch and scuffing shows along the edges and contact points, but the monster cast stays clearly readable on both sides. It's the grade most players pick for the balance between looks and cost.

XM1014 | Monster Melt Rarity

Rarity: Restricted — the pink-purple grade, positioned above Mil-Spec among the special weapon tiers. It's an uncommon rarity, scarcer than the everyday blue finishes and carrying a bit more collector weight.

XM1014 | Monster Melt Case and Collection

Field-Tested Monster Melt belongs to The Overpass 2024 Collection, released with The Armory update in October 2024. Since the collection lacks a case, the regular finish spreads via collection drops and trade-ups rather than unboxing, with roughly 15.98% of Restricted-tier supply falling on this skin.

XM1014 | Monster Melt Patterns

The design is fixed, so the monster artwork prints identically across both faces of every copy — there's no seed to reroll and nothing resembling a blue gem to seek out. Copies are told apart solely by their wear condition and float number.

StatTrak & Souvenir

You won't find a StatTrak edition of this finish; StatTrak is minted through cases, and Monster Melt's collection has none, so that version was never created. A Souvenir edition does exist, though — Souvenir copies were distributed in the Budapest 2025 Overpass Souvenir Package at a Major tournament.

XM1014 | Monster Melt Price

Field-Tested lands in the mid-to-lower part of the finish's ladder — cheaper than the two cleanest grades while keeping the monster design fully legible. It's the practical value option for most buyers and stays in affordable mid-tier territory. Grab it on Skin.Land with instant delivery and no hidden fees.

FAQ

How worn does Field-Tested Monster Melt look?

Moderately. In the 0.15–0.38 float range the pink base softens slightly and scuffing appears along the edges and grip, yet the monster cast keeps its shape on both sides. It reads as a lightly used copy rather than a battered one, so the playful design comes through clearly at normal viewing distance.

Is Field-Tested the best value grade?

For most players, yes. It costs less than Minimal Wear and Factory New while keeping the monster artwork clearly visible, and it's the most common grade on the market. Well-Worn and Battle-Scarred are cheaper still if you want the lowest price and don't mind heavier wear on the pink base.

Does the wear ruin the colorful look?

No. The pink base dulls a little and the edges pick up scuffing at Field-Tested, but the cast of monsters stays recognizable and the finish keeps its quirky character. You get the full Monster Melt identity for meaningfully less than the cleaner grades cost.
