Description

The Gallery Case is a CS2 weapon case released on October 2, 2024, as part of the Armory update. It contains 17 community-designed weapon skins from The Gallery Collection and 13 Kukri Knife variants as the rare special item. The Kukri Knife was introduced to CS2 with the Kilowatt Case earlier that year — the Gallery Case is the second case to feature it, with a different set of finishes.

The case is no longer available through the Armory pass and cannot be obtained from weekly drops. It can only be purchased on our marketplace.

Gallery Case Price

The Gallery Case was originally obtainable through the Armory system for 2 Armory Credits (roughly $0.80). After Valve removed it from the Armory store, the price gradually climbed as new supply stopped entering the market. Today it trades around $0.90–1.10.

The price trajectory is typical for discontinued Armory cases — slow initial growth after removal, with stronger appreciation expected over the long term as existing stock gets opened and supply shrinks.

Is the Gallery Case Worth Opening? Drop Rates and Odds Explained

CS2 case odds are the same across all standard weapon cases:

• Mil-Spec (blue) — 79.92%
• Restricted (purple) — 15.98%
• Classified (pink) — 3.20%
• Covert (red) — 0.64%
• Knife (rare special) — 0.26% (~1 in 385 openings)

Each skin has a 10% chance to drop as StatTrak. The cheapest knife in this case — Kukri Knife | Safari Mesh — starts around $47, while the most expensive — Kukri Knife | Crimson Web — reaches around $900.

Among the weapon skins, the M4A1-S | Vaporwave stands out as one of the most desirable Covert drops in recent CS2 releases. At $2.49 per key plus the case cost, each opening costs roughly $3.50. As with all cases, mathematically opening is negative expected value.

Is the Gallery Case a Good Investment in CS2?

The Gallery Case is a relatively young discontinued case, which means the investment upside is still ahead of it rather than already priced in. Supply stopped growing when Valve removed it from the Armory store, and it will continue to shrink as players open their cases.

Two factors support long-term appreciation: the Kukri Knife pool, which has a loyal following since its introduction in the Kilowatt Case, and the M4A1-S | Vaporwave — widely considered an S-tier Covert skin with a design that analysts see as having virtually no price ceiling.

At the current entry price below $1, the risk-to-reward ratio is attractive for patient investors.

Gallery Case Key

To open the Gallery Case, you need a Gallery Case Key priced at $2.49, purchased directly in-game: open your inventory, click the case, select "Unlock Container." Since 2019, CS2 keys are non-tradable and cannot be resold on the Steam Community Market — the only way to get a key is through the game client.

Gallery Case vs Other CS2 Cases: Which One Should You Choose?

The Gallery Case and Kilowatt Case both feature the Kukri Knife, but with different finish sets — making the choice between them mostly a matter of which finishes you prefer. The Gallery Case currently sits at a lower price than the Kilowatt Case, offering a cheaper entry point into the same knife family. Compared to classic discontinued cases like the Gamma Case or Glove Case, the Gallery Case is newer, cheaper, and earlier in its price appreciation cycle — higher potential upside, but a longer timeline to realize it.
