Paternity Leave Turns Into a Sticker Opportunity
The situation kicked off with apEX taking a well-deserved leave of absence from competitive play to celebrate the birth of his first child. To keep things rolling at PGL Masters Bucharest 2026, Vitality brought in jL as a temporary stand-in.
However, things got really interesting for the skin and sticker economy after Vitality’s recent 2-1 loss to FUT Esports. Because of that loss, Vitality was pushed to a 2-1 record in the Swiss stage, guaranteeing they play at least two more series in Bucharest.
Valve's 5-Match Roster Rule
Valve’s Regional Standings (VRS) system dictates that a player must compete in at least five of a team's last ten series to be counted as part of their active five-man roster. Having already played three series for Vitality, jL just needs to play these next two matches to cross the threshold.
If he hits that mark, he'll be locked in as one of Vitality's official starters when the November 2nd rankings are finalized to determine Major invites. This means he meets the requirement to receive a Singapore Major autograph sticker, while apEX will be left out.
What Happens to apEX?
Don't worry about apEX missing the Major entirely. Tournament rules still allow teams to register substitutes, meaning the French captain can still lead his squad on the server in Singapore once he returns. However, because stickers are strictly tied to the five officially registered starters, apEX will likely be missing out on having his own signature in the Singapore 2026 capsules.
Will jL's signature be the most sought-after sticker of the Major? We’ll find out soon!
