Unexpectedly for all, Valve announced the Premier Season 2 and a few small CT side weapon changes. To be honest, considering how recent the addition of Train to the active map pool was, we wouldn’t have expected any announcements for a while. Premier Season Two starts this week, and we’ve been shown appreciation for participating in the Premier game mode with a token of gratitude, displaying our achievements and stats gained throughout the Season One.

Premier Season 2 Announcement

As a sign of gratitude, Valve gifts a commemorative Premier Season One Medal to every player who earned a CS Rating during the first season of Premier, no matter the rank or position in the leaderboard. The medal includes detailed season statistics that can be accessed by clicking on the medal inside Inventory. Statistics also display the amount of games played, winrate, KD and many other important stats. You will also be able to see the radar chart displaying the most played maps in the Premier Season One. Well done, Valve! If you're a bit unfamiliar with the Premier mode, then make sure to check out our detailed article on the differences between Premier and Competitive modes in CS2.

Prior to the beginning of the Season Two, there will be a brief day-long break during which the CS Rating you’ve gained will be recalibrated. Combining your MMR and the 10 calibration games in the next season, you’ll be able to establish your CS Rating. Make sure to practice in DMs before rushing to Premier headfirst!

The CS2 player base will also get to experience  a few substantial changes during Season Two. Rejoice all those who hated Vertigo and its convoluted structure, since it’s being replaced by the updated version of Train. Valve also mentioned that when Season Two comes to a close after the Austin Major, the players will be awarded a whole different Season Two Medal with a few unique features. The color of medal will correspond to your highest achieved CS rating.

CT weapon changes

There might be some serious weapon changes in the coming months, but as for now, Valve unveiled a couple of changes for CT side weapons. Starting off, the M4A4 is now $100 cheaper, which means that it costs $2,900, the same as M4A1-S. The blog post also mentions: “The FAMAS has some improvements to its standing and crouching accuracy (along with the price cut)”. These FAMAS buffs are well appreciated, as the rifle had been lacking for quite some time. Hopefully, many more balance fixes will arrive for the Premier Season 2. By the way, if you’re looking for a fresh FAMAS skin, now that the French rifle is finally getting some needed buffs, then make sure to check out Skin.Land marketplace, a one-stop service for all your CS2 needs.
