AK-47 | Safari Mesh (Factory New)

AK-47 | Safari Mesh (Factory New)

The AK-47 | Safari Mesh (Factory New) is an Industrial Grade rifle skin wrapped in a gray, khaki-toned safari mesh camo. Factory New is the cleanest grade this finish comes in, so it shows the camo at its sharpest — a genuinely cheap way onto the AK.

Design

Safari Mesh is a muted gray, khaki-toned camo that was spray-painted through mesh fencing and cardboard cutouts used as stencils, which is where the netted, patchy texture comes from. It's a Valve-made finish, and it carries a fitting in-game line: "A predator is a predator, no matter the environment."

AK-47 | Safari Mesh (Factory New) Float and Wear

The finish starts at a float of 0.06, so Factory New is the top grade available and about as tidy as the camo ever looks. At this exterior the pattern reads even and controlled, with no visible scratching or paint loss across the body. If you want the sharpest version of the safari camo, this is the one to grab — and it's still an inexpensive pickup.

AK-47 | Safari Mesh Rarity

Rarity: Industrial Grade — the light-blue tier, low on the standard weapon grades, just above Consumer Grade. It's one of the more common rarities, which is a big reason the skin stays so affordable.

AK-47 | Safari Mesh Case and Collection

The AK-47 | Safari Mesh is part of The Dust 2 Collection, introduced in November 2013 with the "Out with the old, in with the new" update. Rather than dropping from a weapon case, it comes through the collection and its Souvenir packages, so supply leans on those sources rather than case openings.

AK-47 | Safari Mesh Patterns

The AK-47 | Safari Mesh has no random paint-seed variation to hunt — the mesh camo sits much the same way on every copy, so there's no "blue gem" pattern lottery here. Wear and float are the only things that meaningfully separate one Safari Mesh from another.

StatTrak & Souvenir

There's no StatTrak version of the AK-47 | Safari Mesh — StatTrak weapons are minted only as special drops from weapon cases, and this finish isn't distributed through a StatTrak-enabled case, so no kill-counter variant is produced. A Souvenir version does exist: Souvenir weapons come from Major-tournament souvenir packages, and Safari Mesh first appeared in the DreamHack 2013 Souvenir Package.

AK-47 | Safari Mesh Price

Factory New sits at the top of this finish's own price ladder, since it's the top grade — a small step above Minimal Wear. Even so, it stays one of the cheapest AK-47 skins around, an easy budget buy rather than a big investment. It's available to buy on Skin.Land with instant delivery and no hidden fees.

FAQ

Is Factory New worth it over Minimal Wear?

Only if you want the sharpest possible camo. Factory New shows the safari mesh at its crispest, but the gap to Minimal Wear is small on such a muted finish, and the price difference is tiny either way since the skin is cheap across the board. Most buyers pick whichever grade is a few cents cheaper at the time.

Why is the AK-47 | Safari Mesh so cheap?

It's an Industrial Grade skin from a large, long-available collection, so supply is high and demand is modest compared with flashier AK finishes. That combination keeps every grade, Factory New included, at the budget end of the AK-47 market — it's one of the most affordable ways to move off the default AK.

Which gloves go with the AK-47 | Safari Mesh?

Its gray-and-khaki camo suits an earthy, military loadout, so olive, tan, or gray gloves work best — think desert or field tones that echo the safari palette rather than bright colors. Neutral wraps keep the understated, utilitarian vibe the finish is going for.
