AK-47 | Wasteland Rebel (Battle-Scarred)
The AK-47 | Wasteland Rebel (Battle-Scarred) is a Covert rifle skin with a distressed, spray-stencil post-apocalyptic finish in orange and black over bare metal, in its most heavily worn condition. It's the cheapest way into a Covert grail AK, trading a pristine copy for the lowest entry price on a design that already looks battle-worn.
Design
Wasteland Rebel takes a rugged, dystopian direction — distressed, block printed, and painted with graffiti, its orange and black stencils layered over exposed metal. A community design by the artist SA_22, it comes with an in-game line that fits the survival theme: "One day they will ask why we fight, and when they do they will understand."
AK-47 | Wasteland Rebel (Battle-Scarred) Float and Wear
At Battle-Scarred the finish wears its damage openly — heavy scratching and paint loss spread across the body on top of the design's built-in grime. The orange stencils and block print survive as the anchor that keeps the skin recognizable. This finish is capped at 0.70, so it never reaches the extreme end of the float scale, and combined with a design meant to look ruined, it stays surprisingly on-theme at its roughest.
AK-47 | Wasteland Rebel Rarity
The rarity is Covert — the red tier, the highest grade standard weapon skins reach, one level above Classified. Since Covert is the rarest kind of skin a case will give up, this finish commands the value it does.
AK-47 | Wasteland Rebel Case and Collection
Part of The Vanguard Collection, Wasteland Rebel drops from the Operation Vanguard Weapon Case, which released with Operation Vanguard in November 2014. The Covert tier collectively drops around 0.64% of the time, and with the Operation Vanguard Case retired from the active drop pool for years, supply won't grow — so most copies are bought on the market instead of unboxed.
AK-47 | Wasteland Rebel Patterns
No random pattern applies to Wasteland Rebel; the block print and graffiti stencils are fixed across all copies, meaning there's no paint seed or "blue gem" to track down. The only differences from copy to copy come down to wear and float.
StatTrak & Souvenir
There is a StatTrak™ variant that tracks confirmed kills; it likewise drops from the Operation Vanguard Weapon Case, less often and for more money than the standard skin, and the counter it carries is permanent, moving with the item whenever it's traded or sold. No Souvenir form was produced — Souvenir weapons come solely from Major-tournament souvenir packages, and this skin's case was never part of a Major drop.
AK-47 | Wasteland Rebel Price
Battle-Scarred is the cheapest grade of the skin — the entry-level way to run a Covert grail AK for players who care more about the design than the condition. As the lowest rung on the ladder it's the most affordable route to the Wasteland Rebel, though a Covert finish still commands real value even at this grade. It's available to buy on Skin.Land with instant delivery and no hidden fees.
FAQ
Is the Battle-Scarred Wasteland Rebel still recognizable?
Yes. Despite the heavy scuffing, the orange stencils and block print keep the design clearly readable at a glance, and the whole finish was built to look battered anyway. Battle-Scarred is about accepting visible wear in exchange for the lowest price on a Covert skin, not losing the look — this design arguably suits it better than most.
Why doesn't the Battle-Scarred Wasteland Rebel look completely trashed?
Because the finish is float-capped at 0.70 rather than the full 1.0, its Battle-Scarred copies never reach the most extreme wear. On top of that, the Wasteland Rebel is designed to look grimy and distressed, so the added damage blends into the intended aesthetic rather than ruining a once-clean surface.
Which gloves go with the AK-47 | Wasteland Rebel?
Its orange-and-black, rusted palette suits a warm, gritty loadout, so orange, brown, or black gloves fit best — an orange or tan pair echoes the stencil work, while black wraps lean into the grimy, post-apocalyptic vibe. Earthy, worn-looking gloves match the survival theme better than anything bright or clean.
