AWP | Chromatic Aberration (Well-Worn)

AWP | Chromatic Aberration (Well-Worn)

The AWP | Chromatic Aberration (Well-Worn) is a Covert sniper skin with a light body and an RGB color-split effect, here in a more battered state. It's a cheaper way into a genuinely eye-catching AWP finish, with wear the pale base makes no attempt to hide.

Design

Think of a misaligned camera lens or a glitching display: that's the color split Chromatic Aberration recreates, printing the paint's color channels in offset positions so the light base picks up cyan and magenta ghosting on every edge. The artist kosear designed it for the community around chromatic motifs, and it ships with a wink of a caption: "(Not so) easy on the eyes..."

AWP | Chromatic Aberration (Well-Worn) Float and Wear

At Well-Worn the finish shows heavy scuffing and paint loss across the body, the rail, and around the scope, and the light base puts all of it on display. The offset color channels still anchor the look, but there's no pretending this is a fresh copy. For players who care more about price than surface condition, it delivers the recognizable glitch for less.

AWP | Chromatic Aberration Rarity

Rarity: Covert — the red tier, the highest of the standard weapon-skin grades, placed above Classified and beneath only knives and gloves. As case pulls go, it's one of the rarer ones.

AWP | Chromatic Aberration Case and Collection

Released on July 1, 2022, the Recoil Case is where Chromatic Aberration drops, part of The Recoil Collection. Its Covert grade shares the roughly 0.64% red-tier drop chance across the case's Covert skins, with the odds attached to the tier rather than this specific finish, so it's a scarce pull — most copies trade on the market rather than coming straight from the case.

AWP | Chromatic Aberration Patterns

No random pattern variation applies to Chromatic Aberration — the offset color channels appear the same way on every copy, so there's no paint seed or blue gem to chase. That leaves wear and float as the only differences between units.

StatTrak & Souvenir

A StatTrak™ edition is available — it carries a confirmed-kill counter and drops more rarely and at a higher price from the Recoil Case, with the tally tracking kills permanently as the item is traded or sold. There's no Souvenir version, as Souvenir weapons are handed out solely through Major-tournament souvenir packages, and the Recoil Case was never part of a Major drop.

AWP | Chromatic Aberration Price

Well-Worn sits near the bottom of the ladder, below Field-Tested and above only Battle-Scarred — a budget route to the design for players who won't pay the mid-grade premium. It's one of the cheaper ways to get the glitch look into your loadout. It's available to buy on Skin.Land with instant delivery and no hidden fees.

FAQ

How rough does the Well-Worn copy look?

Fairly rough. Expect obvious scratches and paint thinning across the body and scope — more than Field-Tested but short of the full battering of Battle-Scarred. The pale base shows it all, yet the cyan-magenta offset keeps the skin recognizable, so it still reads as Chromatic Aberration on the server.

Is Well-Worn worth it over Field-Tested?

Mainly if price leads your decision. Field-Tested looks distinctly cleaner for a modest step up in cost, so most buyers prefer it on a light-bodied skin like this one. Well-Worn makes sense when you want the design as cheaply as possible without going all the way down to Battle-Scarred.

Can I get Chromatic Aberration from a trade-up?

Not a standard one. As the top Covert grade in The Recoil Collection there's no higher tier to trade up into, so contracts can't produce it — copies come from opening the Recoil Case or, far more often, buying on the market. That fixed supply is part of what keeps it steady.
