AWP | Exoskeleton (Field-Tested)
The AWP | Exoskeleton (Field-Tested) is a Restricted sniper skin with a gray metal body engraved with interlocking bones and skulls. Field-Tested is the most common, best-known way to own it — a touch of honest wear on a finish that shrugs it off, for well under the higher grades.
Design
The look is all carved depth: a dark gray, gray-blue metal body pressed with an intricate ornament of interlocking bones and skulls, the receiver anchored by one engraved skull of an unknown creature. It's a near-grayscale, macabre design that skips color for detail. Community artist Rozzy made it, and it comes with a fitting caption: "Full tilt."
AWP | Exoskeleton (Field-Tested) Float and Wear
At Field-Tested the metal picks up light scratching along the edges, the scope, and the high points of the receiver, but the mid-gray body keeps it from standing out, so most copies still read well at a glance. The fine engraving softens only slightly at this level, keeping the bone-and-skull ornament legible. This is the grade most players picture when they think of the Exoskeleton — the sweet spot between look and price.
AWP | Exoskeleton Rarity
Rarity: Restricted — the purple tier, seated one step over Mil-Spec and one under Classified among the standard weapon grades. It's a middle-of-the-ladder pull: rarer than the blue Mil-Spec skins in the case, but more common than anything in the pink or red tiers above it.
AWP | Exoskeleton Case and Collection
The Exoskeleton sits in The Operation Broken Fang Collection and is unboxed from the Operation Broken Fang Case, which arrived with the Operation Broken Fang update in December 2020. As a group the Restricted tier drops around 16% of the time from the case (the rate is shared across the tier's skins), so it's an accessible grade — and the market, rather than unboxing, is where most copies come from.
AWP | Exoskeleton Patterns
Because the bone-and-skull engraving sits the same way on every Exoskeleton, the finish carries no random pattern variation — nothing like a paint seed or blue gem to track down. Wear and float are all that separate one copy from another.
StatTrak & Souvenir
You can also find a StatTrak™ Exoskeleton, which tacks on a confirmed-kill counter; it's rarer and pricier than the standard drop, and the counter is permanent, following the item through every trade or sale. There's no Souvenir variant — Souvenir weapons only come from Major-tournament souvenir packages, and the Broken Fang Collection has never featured as a Major drop.
AWP | Exoskeleton Price
Field-Tested is the value sweet spot of the range — cheaper than the two grades above it while keeping much the same look, which is a big part of why it's the most traded condition of this finish. It's a budget AWP skin to begin with, so the entry cost stays low. It's available to buy on Skin.Land with instant delivery and no hidden fees.
FAQ
Does the Field-Tested Exoskeleton look worn?
Only mildly. The gray metal body masks scratches well, so a Field-Tested copy reads as tidy to most eyes, with light wear on the edges and scope showing under close inspection. The carved bones and skulls stay legible, so the ornament that defines the skin still comes through clearly in-game.
Is Field-Tested the best value Exoskeleton?
For most buyers, yes. It costs noticeably less than Factory New and Minimal Wear but looks close thanks to the wear-hiding gray body, and it's the easiest condition to find on the market. Well-Worn and Battle-Scarred are cheaper again if you want the lowest price and don't mind heavier scuffing across the metal.
Which gloves go with the Exoskeleton?
Its grayscale, macabre body suits a dark, muted loadout, so gray, black, or bone-toned gloves land best — a gray or off-white pair echoes the carved bones, while black wraps keep the engraving the loudest thing on show. Bright colors tend to clash with the finish's stripped-back monochrome mood.
