AWP | Medusa (Field-Tested)

AWP | Medusa (Field-Tested)

The AWP | Medusa (Field-Tested) is a Covert sniper rifle skin — the iconic teal gorgon design in a mid-grade condition. Field-Tested is the most accessible way into one of CS2's most famous AWP finishes, showing honest wear while keeping the artwork clearly intact.

Design

The Medusa is Valve's own creation, centered on one bold image: the gorgon's severed head with snakes coiling from her hair, washed across the body in cool teal and turquoise tones. As Valve's line puts it, the weapon has been custom painted with the image of a gorgon. It's paired with a fittingly deadly in-game quote: "If you can see me, you're already dead."

AWP | Medusa (Field-Tested) Float and Wear

At Field-Tested the Medusa picks up noticeable scratching and some fading across the artwork, most visibly along the edges and raised areas, though the gorgon and her snakes stay fully recognizable. The teal loses a little of its Factory New punch but still carries the design. For players who want the skin in a loadout without top-grade money, this is the practical grade.

AWP | Medusa Rarity

Rarity: Covert. It's the red tier at the top of the standard weapon-skin grades, a step above Classified, and Covert finishes are the rarest thing in their pool — the Medusa ranking among the most coveted the AWP has seen.

AWP | Medusa Case and Collection

The Medusa is a Gods and Monsters Collection skin, launched alongside Operation Bloodhound on May 26, 2015. There's no case behind it — the collection's Covert skins reach players through rare in-game drops and Trade Up Contracts rather than unboxings, keeping the population small and the prices strong. Since the collection has long since left active circulation, nearly all copies change hands on the market today.

AWP | Medusa Patterns

The Medusa carries a fixed design: the gorgon artwork is printed the same on all copies, leaving nothing like a paint seed, phase, or blue gem to seek out. Only wear and float set copies apart, so the exterior ends up being the biggest driver of how a Medusa looks and what it commands.

StatTrak & Souvenir

The Medusa has no StatTrak edition. Because StatTrak versions are produced through weapon cases and this finish never appeared in one, a confirmed-kill counter doesn't exist for it. Nor is there a Souvenir Medusa — Souvenir skins are distributed only via Major-tournament souvenir packages, and this finish has never been in one.

AWP | Medusa Price

Field-Tested sits in the middle of the Medusa's ladder — cheaper than the near-mint grades but still a high-end, grail-tier AWP by any normal measure. It's the most common entry point to the finish and the one most players actually buy. It's available to buy on Skin.Land with instant delivery and no hidden fees.

FAQ

Does the Field-Tested Medusa look worn?

Some, yes. You'll see scratches and mild fading across the artwork, most obviously on the edges and high points, and the teal is a touch softer than at the top grades. Even so, the gorgon design stays clear and striking in-game, which is a big part of why Field-Tested remains such a popular pick.

Is Field-Tested the best value Medusa?

For running it in a loadout, often yes. It costs far less than Factory New or Minimal Wear while keeping the design instantly recognizable. Well-Worn and Battle-Scarred are cheaper still, but they show heavier wear on the artwork — Field-Tested is the balance point between price and presentation for most buyers.

Which gloves go with the Medusa?

Lean into its cool palette. Teal, turquoise, or blue-toned gloves echo the gorgon's coloring for a matched look, and green pairs work well too. If you'd rather let the AWP be the star, neutral gray or black wraps keep all the focus on the artwork without competing with it.
