AWP | Oni Taiji (Factory New)

AWP | Oni Taiji (Factory New)

The AWP | Oni Taiji (Factory New) is a Covert sniper skin, a hand-painted Japanese demon-slaying scene of samurai clashing with oni across the body in deep reds, gold, and dark tones. Factory New is the top grade the finish comes in, showing the artwork at full richness and commanding the highest, grail-tier prices in the range.

Design

Oni Taiji is a community design by the artist L'grand, hand painted with a scene of samurai doing battle with oni — the demons of Japanese folklore — rendered in warm reds, gold accents, and shadowed dark tones. It's an illustrative, almost woodblock-print approach rather than a graphic pattern, and it carries a fittingly ominous in-game line: "Face your demons."

AWP | Oni Taiji (Factory New) Float and Wear

Factory New is the pinnacle grade for this finish, presenting the painted scene at its most vivid with the body free of scuffs. The reds stay saturated, the gold catches the light, and every figure in the demon-slaying artwork reads sharply. For a skin whose whole appeal is its illustration, this is the grade that shows it off best — and it's priced to match.

AWP | Oni Taiji Rarity

Rarity: Covert — the red tier, the very top of the standard weapon rarity grades. On the AWP that places this finish among the most coveted skins a player can own, occupying the most exclusive slot a weapon can hold.

AWP | Oni Taiji Case and Collection

The finish belongs to The Operation Hydra Collection and drops from the Operation Hydra Case, released with Operation Hydra in May 2017. As a Covert it's the rarest grade in the set — the Covert tier lands at roughly 0.64%, a rate shared across the tier's skins — and with the Operation Hydra Case long out of the active drop pool, supply is fixed, so most copies now change hands on the market rather than through unboxing.

AWP | Oni Taiji Patterns

Oni Taiji has no random pattern variation — the painted samurai-versus-demon scene sits the same way on every copy, so there's no paint seed or blue-gem to hunt down. Float and wear are the only things that set one example apart from another.

StatTrak & Souvenir

A StatTrak™ Oni Taiji exists and adds a confirmed-kill counter; it's a rarer, pricier drop than the standard skin, and the counter is permanent, carrying over whenever the item is traded or sold. There's no Souvenir version — Souvenir weapons come only from Major-tournament souvenir packages, and the Operation Hydra Case was a purchasable case, never a Major drop.

AWP | Oni Taiji Price

Factory New sits at the very top of the Oni Taiji ladder as the highest grade available, a clear step above the worn conditions and firmly in high-end, grail-tier territory for the AWP. It's available to buy on Skin.Land with instant delivery and no hidden fees.

FAQ

Why is the Factory New Oni Taiji so expensive?

It's a Covert AWP with detailed hand-painted artwork, and Factory New is its top grade — the version collectors want most. Add a fixed supply from a retired case and the demand any premium AWP skin attracts, and the flawless grade sits at the peak of the finish's price ladder, deep in grail-tier territory.

Is Factory New worth the premium over Minimal Wear?

Only if you want the absolute best. Factory New shows the demon-slaying scene at peak saturation with a spotless surface, but Minimal Wear looks so close that most players can't tell them apart in a match. The premium is really about owning the top grade and its prestige rather than a visible difference.

Which gloves go with the Oni Taiji?

Its red-and-gold palette over dark tones suits a warm, ornate loadout — crimson, oxblood, or gold-accented gloves echo the artwork instead of fighting it. Red or brown-leather Hand Wraps tie the setup to the skin's samurai theme, keeping the AWP as the centerpiece without clashing.
