AWP | Oni Taiji (Minimal Wear)

AWP | Oni Taiji (Minimal Wear)

The AWP | Oni Taiji (Minimal Wear) is a Covert sniper skin — a hand-painted scene of samurai battling oni in reds, gold, and dark shades, here with only the faintest signs of handling. Minimal Wear keeps the artwork nearly untouched while sitting a notch below the peak Factory New price.

Design

A community submission from the artist L'grand, Oni Taiji is hand painted with samurai locked in combat against oni — the demons of Japanese myth — in warm reds, gold detailing, and deep shadow tones. The style leans illustrative and print-like rather than graphic, and the finish comes with an apt line of flavor text: "Face your demons."

AWP | Oni Taiji (Minimal Wear) Float and Wear

At Minimal Wear the painted scene stays richly detailed, the reds and gold holding strong with only trace wear along the extreme edges. It's a half-step down from Factory New that most eyes struggle to separate, which makes it a favorite for buyers who want near-top condition without paying the very peak of the range.

AWP | Oni Taiji Rarity

Rarity: Covert — the red tier and the highest of the standard weapon rarity grades. For the AWP, that ranks this finish among the single most sought-after skins in the game, sitting in the most exclusive slot a weapon can occupy.

AWP | Oni Taiji Case and Collection

This finish is part of The Operation Hydra Collection, which arrived with Operation Hydra in May 2017, and it unboxes from the Operation Hydra Case. Being a Covert, it's the scarcest grade in the set — the Covert tier comes in around 0.64%, shared across the tier's skins — and since the Operation Hydra Case has left the active drop pool, the supply is capped, with most copies picked up on the market instead of unboxed.

AWP | Oni Taiji Patterns

There's no random pattern roll on Oni Taiji — the samurai-and-demon illustration lands identically on every copy, so no paint seed or blue-gem chase applies here. The only things that distinguish one from the next are wear and float.

StatTrak & Souvenir

There is a StatTrak™ Oni Taiji, which brings a confirmed-kill counter along; it drops more rarely and costs more than the standard skin, and that counter is permanent, staying with the item through every trade and sale. No Souvenir version exists — Souvenir weapons are produced only from Major-tournament souvenir packages, and Oni Taiji came from a purchasable case rather than a Major package.

AWP | Oni Taiji Price

Minimal Wear sits just below Factory New near the top of the Oni Taiji ladder — still a high-end, grail-tier AWP, but a meaningful saving over the flawless grade for a look that's all but identical. It's available to buy on Skin.Land with instant delivery and no hidden fees.

FAQ

How much wear shows at Minimal Wear?

Very little. Expect only the faintest scuffing at the edges and rails, nothing that touches the painted scene itself. The reds and gold hold their full richness, so a Minimal Wear copy reads as near-flawless at any normal viewing distance in a match.

Is Minimal Wear a smart value on the Oni Taiji?

For most buyers, yes. It looks nearly identical to Factory New while costing noticeably less, so you get the top-tier appearance without paying for the single best float on the market. That gap is why many people after a high-grade Oni Taiji settle here rather than at Factory New.

Does Minimal Wear look different from Factory New?

Barely. Side by side you might spot marginally more edge wear at Minimal Wear, but the demon-slaying artwork, the warm tones, and the overall impression are essentially the same. The difference is more about the float number and prestige than anything your eye catches during play.
