AWP | Queen's Gambit (Field-Tested)
The AWP | Queen's Gambit (Field-Tested) is a Covert sniper skin carrying the regal blue-and-gold queen artwork in its most commonly traded condition. Field-Tested is the grade most copies change hands in — honest, visible wear on a finish whose ornate design keeps it firmly in high-end territory.
Design
Made by the community artist Endrit rather than in-house, the Queen's Gambit wears a chess queen hand-painted in front of the butt stock over a custom royal blue and gold base. It's an intentionally regal, heraldic style that favors fine detail over loud graphics, and it's stamped with the in-game line: "Every shot is a royal decree of power and precision."
AWP | Queen's Gambit (Field-Tested) Float and Wear
At Field-Tested the finish picks up light scratching along the rails and edges and the surface softens a touch, but the queen motif stays fully legible and the blue-and-gold tones stay vivid. This is the condition most copies trade in, and for many buyers it's the practical sweet spot — the complete look a step down from the higher grades.
AWP | Queen's Gambit Rarity
Rarity: Covert. The red tier stands at the very top of the standard weapon rarity grades, and on the AWP it ranks the Queen's Gambit among the most coveted skins in the game — the most exclusive slot a weapon can fill.
AWP | Queen's Gambit Case and Collection
Part of The Dead Hand Collection, the Queen's Gambit comes out of the Sealed Dead Hand Terminal case. As a Covert it's the rarest grade in the set — the Covert tier sits at roughly 0.64% (shared across the tier's skins) — which makes it an uncommon unbox, so most copies are sourced on the market rather than pulled from the case.
AWP | Queen's Gambit Patterns
Pattern variation doesn't factor into the Queen's Gambit — the queen and the blue-and-gold layout are placed identically on every copy, so there's no paint seed or blue-gem hunt to chase. Only float and wear distinguish one from the next.
StatTrak & Souvenir
A StatTrak Queen's Gambit doesn't exist — StatTrak weapons originate from cases that carry a StatTrak variant, and this finish was never one of them. There's no Souvenir version to find either, because Souvenir weapons issue only from Major-tournament souvenir packages, and neither The Dead Hand Collection nor its case ever featured as a Major drop.
AWP | Queen's Gambit Price
Field-Tested lands in the middle of the range — more attainable than the higher grades yet still a premium, high-end AWP. It's also the most liquid grade, changing hands more often than any other exterior, which keeps it the practical way in for most buyers. It's available to buy on Skin.Land with instant delivery and no hidden fees.
FAQ
Does the Field-Tested Queen's Gambit look worn?
A little, but not badly. You'll see light scratching on the rails and edges and a slight softening of the surface, yet the queen artwork and its royal blue-and-gold palette stay clearly on display. At normal in-game distances it still presents as the unmistakable Queen's Gambit, which is why the grade is so popular.
Why is Field-Tested the most common Queen's Gambit?
Because the finish spans the full float range and a large share of drops land in the Field-Tested band. That makes it the exterior you'll see traded most often, and the deeper pool of listings tends to keep it the more reachable grade relative to the near-mint conditions above it.
Is the Field-Tested Queen's Gambit still a high-end skin?
Yes. Even at this exterior the skin's Covert rarity and ornate design keep it a prestigious, high-end AWP. Field-Tested simply offers the most realistic route into ownership — you get the full regal look and the same status without chasing the top floats.
