FAMAS | Dark Water (Field-Tested)

The FAMAS | Dark Water (Field-Tested) is a Mil-Spec finish with an aquatic-stripe pattern in charcoal metallic tones over chrome. Field-Tested is the finish's more affordable grade, with slightly more wear than Minimal Wear but the same moody pattern still clearly on display.

Design

The finish combines charcoal metallic stripes of varying reflectivity with a chrome base coat, laid out in a flowing, water-inspired pattern with a darker, more ominous feel than most aquatic-themed skins. It's a Valve design carrying the line "Water gives life, but it can also take it..."

FAMAS | Dark Water (Field-Tested) Float and Wear

Because the finish is capped between 0.10 and 0.26 float, Field-Tested sits at the upper end of that narrow range rather than the more common wider band seen on other skins. At this level the charcoal stripes and chrome undertone show a touch more wear than Minimal Wear, but the pattern stays fully legible.

Every copy of this finish carries the same aquatic-stripe layout, with no seed to change how it looks and no "blue gem" version to search for. Float is the only real variable within the finish's tight range.

This finish has no StatTrak edition. It does exist as a Souvenir, though, drawn from multiple Major-tournament packages across several years, starting with the Stockholm 2021 Ancient Souvenir Package.

Is Field-Tested much different from Minimal Wear here?

Not dramatically — since the finish's whole float range is squeezed between 0.10 and 0.26, Field-Tested shows only a little more wear than Minimal Wear, and the aquatic-stripe pattern stays fully readable at either grade.

Why doesn't the Dark Water have a Well-Worn or Battle-Scarred version?

Its float range tops out at 0.26, well short of the 0.45+ needed for Well-Worn or Battle-Scarred, so the game can never generate a copy that worn. Minimal Wear and Field-Tested are the only two grades that exist.

When was the Dark Water released?

It launched December 3, 2020, with Operation Broken Fang, as part of The Ancient Collection. It's had several later Major souvenir packages add it since then, starting with Stockholm 2021.
