Glock-18 | Grinder (Field-Tested)

Glock-18 | Grinder (Field-Tested)

The Glock-18 | Grinder (Field-Tested) is a Restricted pistol skin whose steel slide carries an abstract, oil-painted design. Field-Tested is the most affordable way to own the finish, with a touch of honest wear the artwork still carries well.

Design

The look is art-forward: a steel slide finished with a combination of stenciling and hand-painting in oil paints, an abstract design that skips printed-decal simplicity entirely. It began as a community submission from the designer Algis, whose work marries abstract art with functional weapon design, and it comes with a fitting in-game line: "The only way to make diamonds is by applying pressure."

Glock-18 | Grinder (Field-Tested) Float and Wear

At Field-Tested the finish picks up light scuffing along the slide edges, though the painted surface holds its character regardless. This finish is capped at 0.25 within its 0.02–0.25 float range, so Field-Tested is as worn as the Grinder ever gets — it never reaches the heavy scarring a full-1.0 skin would show at its roughest. That makes it a surprisingly presentable budget grade.

Glock-18 | Grinder Rarity

Rarity: Restricted — the purple grade, ranked above Mil-Spec and just below Classified among the standard weapon tiers. Pulling one from a case is genuinely uncommon.

Glock-18 | Grinder Case and Collection

Part of The Vanguard Collection, the Grinder drops from the Operation Vanguard Weapon Case that arrived with Operation Vanguard back in November 2014. The Restricted tier as a group unboxes around 15.98% of the time (that figure is shared across the tier), and because the case is no longer in the active drop pool, supply stays fixed — most copies reach players through the market rather than a case.

Glock-18 | Grinder Patterns

The Grinder carries no random pattern roll: the painted design sits the same on each copy, which means there's no paint seed or "blue gem" to track down. Copies differ only by wear and float.

StatTrak & Souvenir

You can also find a StatTrak™ Grinder, which tacks on a confirmed-kill counter; it comes from the Operation Vanguard Weapon Case as a scarcer, more expensive drop than the plain skin, and that counter is permanent, following the item through every trade or sale. There's no Souvenir variant — Souvenir weapons only come from Major-tournament packages, and this skin's case was never featured in one.

Glock-18 | Grinder Price

Field-Tested is the cheapest grade of the finish — the entry-level route into the design for players who care more about the look than a spotless surface. On a skin that already sits in affordable mid-tier territory for a Glock, it's about as budget-friendly as the Grinder gets. It's available to buy on Skin.Land with instant delivery and no hidden fees.

FAQ

Does the Field-Tested Grinder look heavily worn?

Not really. Because the finish is float-capped at 0.25 rather than the usual 1.0, its Field-Tested copies never reach the heavy scuffing you'd see on a fully worn skin. Expect some light edge wear on the slide, but the abstract painted design stays legible and holds its character in-game.

Is Field-Tested worth buying over Minimal Wear?

If price is your priority, yes. Field-Tested is the most affordable grade, and the low float cap means the step down from Minimal Wear is modest rather than dramatic. Minimal Wear looks a touch cleaner for a bit more, so choose based on whether you want the lowest entry price or the tidier surface.

Which gloves suit the Grinder loadout?

The abstract, oil-painted slide is flexible, so neutral or darker gloves usually pair best — a gunmetal or black pair keeps attention on the artwork without clashing. Players who want to echo the art-led feel can reach for a subtly textured glove that complements the hand-painted look.
