M4A1-S | Blue Phosphor (Minimal Wear)
The M4A1-S | Blue Phosphor (Minimal Wear) is a Classified rifle skin — a chrome frame washed in vivid, color-shifting blue with translucent smoke-like waves rolling across it. Because the finish caps at a very low float, Minimal Wear is the more worn of only two grades it ever appears in, yet it still looks close to flawless.
Design
The finish drapes the M4A1-S in anodized metallic blue that shifts between rich cobalt and brighter electric shades as it catches the light, translucent wavy lines curling over the chrome like drifting smoke. Matte black polymer on the grip and stock frames the glowing blue and heightens the contrast. Valve built the design around phosphorescence — the lingering glow energized substances release — and gave it a cheeky line: "Feeling blue?"
M4A1-S | Blue Phosphor (Minimal Wear) Float and Wear
This finish is float-capped at 0.08, an unusually low ceiling, which is why it exists in just two grades: Factory New and Minimal Wear. That cap makes Minimal Wear the most worn this skin ever gets — there's no Field-Tested, Well-Worn, or Battle-Scarred, so even its "worst" copy is far milder than a normal skin's bottom grades. On the metallic blue you'll spot only the faintest edge wear, and the color effect stays essentially intact.
M4A1-S | Blue Phosphor Rarity
Rarity: Classified. That's the pink grade — one step beneath Covert and second-highest among the standard weapon tiers — and a genuinely uncommon thing to unbox.
M4A1-S | Blue Phosphor Case and Collection
This finish is part of The Control Collection, introduced during Operation Broken Fang in December 2020. Across the collection the Classified tier lands at about 3.2% (that figure is shared among the tier's skins), and since the operation wrapped up long ago, the collection no longer drops — buyers pick copies up on the market instead.
M4A1-S | Blue Phosphor Patterns
There's a little copy-to-copy pattern variation on this skin: the translucent smoke-like waves are laid out by a paint seed, so no two are placed quite the same. Even so, there's no coveted "blue gem"-style roll to hunt for, and the variation stays subtle enough that it rarely affects value.
StatTrak & Souvenir
No StatTrak edition of this skin was ever made. A StatTrak counter is attached only when a finish comes out of a weapon case, but Control Collection skins were handed out as operation drops rather than case unboxings, so that variant simply doesn't exist. Souvenir is out too — those come exclusively from Major-tournament packages, and The Control Collection has never been part of a Major.
M4A1-S | Blue Phosphor Price
Minimal Wear is the lower of the skin's two grades, so it comes in under Factory New — but with the color effect nearly untouched at this float, it's the value entry point into a finish that still sits firmly in high-end, grail-tier territory. It's available to buy on Skin.Land with instant delivery and no hidden fees.
FAQ
Does the Minimal Wear Blue Phosphor look worn?
Barely. Thanks to the 0.08 float cap, Minimal Wear is the most worn this skin ever gets, and that only amounts to a touch of edge wear on the metallic blue. The chrome and the smoke-like waves read almost identically to Factory New, so at a glance most players won't tell the two grades apart.
Is Minimal Wear or Factory New the smarter buy?
For value, Minimal Wear. It costs less than Factory New while the color effect stays nearly untouched at this low float, so you keep the look for a smaller outlay. Pay up for Factory New only if you want the highest grade on record; otherwise this is the sensible way into the finish.
What makes Blue Phosphor so sought-after?
A few things stack up: the anodized blue shifts color under light like polished gemstone, the finish only exists in two high grades, and it's tied to the retired Control Collection. Together those push it into high-end, grail-tier pricing among M4A1-S finishes — it's a genuine flex piece, not an everyday buy.
